Medical people really are not sure what causes these sores but say that Lysine is a good preventative measure. Also Zinc, Aloe Vera, Golden Seal, sodium lauryl sulfate and Echinacea. All or any of these are good to try out. A good diet will help to aleviate them as well.

Ulcer is something that I get almost every summer in my mouth. My mom told me I got it because of some unusual fever that we get only while we are asleep. I must admit that right before the ulcer I always catch cold. But anyways, 2 years ago, I finally decided to see the doctor. She told me it was some kind of virus and that it got worse from the mixture of dust and sweat. She gave me some pills and told me to take one as soon as I feel that ulcer would form. They helped. But I forgot their name. But yeah, I will definitely say that this ulcer is the cause of sweat and dust.

Hi lady1993, people like us who always suffer from mouth sore are advised not to take too hot or cold food or drink. Avoid to take citrus fruits, as well as hot and spicy food. And we have to keep our mouth clean all the time. This means that we have to gargle our mouth thoroughly or brush our teeth every time after taking sugary stuffs like chocolates or candies. It's really inconvenient to do the mouth cleaning especially we are away from home. I always do my best not to take such stuffs outside. To avoid doing such mouth cleaning to often I usually would like to take sweet deserts once I have finished my meal for the sake of convenience Have a nice day and happy posting

People who lacks of sleep are prone to mouth sore if they don't take vitamin C a lot. So, people who are working graveyard shift needs to take higher dosage of Vitamin C than normal people who works in a day. They also need to eat more citrus fruits because lack of sleep during night time affect their health. but if you are having mouth sore even if you have enough sleep during night time, maybe you lack of Vitamin C as well. Therefore take more vit.C and citrus fruits, that's the best way to avoid having mouth sore. Home remedy for mouth sore is, gargle lukewarm water with salt. You may also add drops of vinegar but it will hurt a little. If alum stone can be used too, rub the affected area after rinsing, gargling lukewarm water with salt and vinegar. You may also add alum powder with your gargle- it's tasteless. Just try it, it's not harmful since it's not chemicals.

Gargle with salt-water? I used to do this and it heals my mouth sores. Just mix a teaspoon of salt into a glass of lukewarm water.

I will just let it be there and it will heal on its own.(^^) Some said use salt, but I will not do it as I have done it before and it give me more pain~(^^) Its maybe because I put it directly on the ulcer. Perhaps I should do it like what caopaopao said above.(^^)

Well, I often get that mouth sore, sometimes it's on my on my lips, sometimes it's inside my mouth. It really hurts, I have some suggestions, you can have a try. 1. melt some salt in water, then rinse the mouth with this water, it will relieve your pain. 2. If the mouth sore is on the lips, you can besmear some of erythromycin ointment on it, it will soft the mouth sore, because when it becomes hard, it becomes painful. Hope it is helpful.
