Last Sunday I returned to my volunteer work as language teacher for the family from Burma/Myanmar and as usual they had prepared some food for me. I got a salad made from a local recipe, and I loved it, it was so delicous. Next time I am going to ask them for the recipe so that I can make that salad in my home
They also offered me some sweets that they had bought in one of the Asien shops in my country. They were very delicious as well. I love it when they cook some of their local food fod me and I have never had a dish from their country that I didn't like.
Do you like to eat food from other countries than your own? Which delicous dishes from other countries have you eaten abroad or when you visited friends from other countries? Have you tried to cook any of those dishes in your own home?

Hi Procospino, I'm very much cautious about dishes of foreign countries. Once I visited Bangcock. There in a restaurant I eat an item which was like fish. But after eating I feel bad. I was doubtful I eat snake. In South-East Asian countries people eat every thing. They eat cockroach. snakes, dogs. various insects and what not. May be Burmese salad is delicious. When I go to other countries I search Indian dish.

I have seen pictures of the insects that people eat some places in Asia, and they don't look delicious to me. I am from a culture where we don't eat insects so that kind of food sounds very unusual to me. I know that I am going to see some of the those fried insects when I visit Thailand, but I think that I will watch them from a distance instead of tasting them
In Cambodia they sell fried spiders and I saw a video on YouTube where a woman went out to catch the spiders, cooked them in her kitchen and sold them. I really couldn't do that. They are huge compared to the spiders in my country and I don't even like to touch the spiders from my own country

Hi Porco, the very first time i ate the pizza when i join a birthday party organized by my relatives, i really like the taste of it. From that day onwards, i like eating pizza and will order it whenever i don't have the time to cook. I ever tried making my own pizza but the crust seems not as nice as from the pizza home. That's why, i prefer to spend some money into buying pizza whenever i want to eat it.

I actually experienced the same thing as you and I also ate pizza for the first at a birthday party. It was one of my classmates who celebrated her birthday and mother had made pizza for us. I liked the taste of it and wanted to eat it again. I agree with you about the difference between homemade pizzas and the pizzas that you buy. Sometimes we make our own pizza, but the crust is not as nice on the homemade pizzas and they always a taste a little different from the pizzas that you can buy. Sometimes we like to order pizza in town but not at the moment because we have to save our money and spend it on the trip instead.

That's right. When we tried new foods and we began liking it, we always wanted to try it again. It happened to me when I first tasted Italian foods in London many years ago. I thought it was noodle but it wasn't. When I came home I tried to cook it myself and I got hooked on it.

I think that is one of the great things about travelling. When we visit another place we get the chance to taste some of the food that isn't available in our own country and sometimes we really like that food and decide to cook it in our home just like you experienced when you had Italian food in London. I love Italian food and I sometimes cook Italian food in my home. I lived in Italy when I was younger, and I loved the food that I got there. It was even better than the Italian food that we can buy in the Italian restaurants in my country.

Yes, the salad from Burma was very nice and I would love to eat it again. It is different from the salad that we usually eat in my country and I must that I like the salad from Burma better than the ordinary salad from my country. Next time I visit some friends for dinner I would like to make that salad. I also like most of the other dishes that they have introduced me to. The family consists of two adults and two children and one of the adults has worked as a chef in their own country and he is very good at cooking.

Yes, the food is really good. Before I met my students I had never tasted the food from Burma because there are no restaurants in my country that sell food from Burma. If a see a Burmese restaurant abroad I will definately visit it.
