Throwing out my furniture

My bedroom is so small I can't fit my dresser in it. I am going to have to buy something to replace it to fit my clothes into. I was thinking of storage bins, but then I saw some tall dressers that would fit but of course more expensive than bins. Any ideas?

If you don't have the floor space use the wall space - go up with storage. Kashmeresmycat has a good idea. They also have thinner plastic storage bins with wheels for under the bed if the deeper ones won't fit. I got one in Family Dollar. Can you maybe fit another rod in your closet? If you put one rod lower than the other you could hang shirts and sweaters on the top and bottom rods. Or those bins on wheels with drawers could go in your closet, too. How big is the closet? Or maybe the Salvation Army or Goodwill has tall dressers for cheaper prices.

my closet is very small, cannot fit more into it than I have already. I have to go with an armor that is very small and I would have to see the space inside before I get on, or the storage bins. Nothing can fit under my bed either.

That is too bad. Well, I will be interested to know what you finally do to solve this problem. I'm no help. I can't think of any way for you to get more storage. Having a small bedroom & a small closet doesn't give you much to work with. Sorry I have no suggestions. You'll have to do it without me! Good luck figuring it out.

They say when space is tight you should take advantage of the vertical space in your room so going up the wall would be a good ideas as would the tall dressers, of course if they are expensive that is not Good. Check local thrift stores for maybe a long tall book shelf, or maybe install some of those wooden shelves, they are not very expensive and screw in easily with an electric screw driver.

I couldn't put my clothes on open shelves they cats would knock them down, but I am aiming for a vertical dresser before the bins.

Could you possibly use the bins with a shelf? For example...if you took 2 bins and spread them apart, then put a straight piece of wood across them, it would make a shelf for more clothes. You can keep adding on too and keep going upward with more bins and another shelf. I hope I explained that ok. This way you can use the bins for clothes and you'll have extra space on the shelf for more clothes. Do you have space under your bed for a plastic container to keep your seasonal clothes in? Or, they also have those plastic bin type hanging drawers that you can hang in your closet. They have a hook on top to hang. I can't really think of nothing else at the moment. Good luck, hope something works out for you.

that also is a thought that might work about the shelves. No the frame for the bed is very low so I really couldn't get anything under the bed and that wouldn't work because I have arthritis in the pain and bending just kills me.

Well it depends on how much storage you need i believe. If you need more storage i would go for a furniture item that has more storage and it will last longer than bins too. Bins just look like your moving and cheap as well. Furniture makes things look better on your behalf and just looks better in general. Lookins at bins isnt a great thing at all. I wouldnt throw away your furniture but try selling it on craigslist if you know how to do that at all, then you would have some money to get something new as well.

the bedroom is very small, and furniture would have to be small but if the furniture is too small it won't fit all my clothes. Believe me bins are not my first choice, but I will have to see as I go out looking for something.

If you don't end up finding a smaller dresser to fit in your room, maybe try re-organizing your closet space. Maybe there's a way to put in organizers and those stacking drawer bin things that you could use to save space. My closet is pretty small but I have shelves, a shoe rack on the floor, and a thing that hangs in my closet and it seems to make the space a bit more efficient for me. Good luck with reorganizing!

I think if your room is small and if you want to save your closet, you should use a small table so that it takes up too much space.

I don't know what you are talking about table? I don't have a table in my room it is too small. It is a bedroom. And I could not put all my clothes on a table either.

I don't know if this would work for you. I have a really small room also. I have a small dresser that I have inside of my closet. I have a wide closet so on one side I hang my shirts and then I have the dresser which holds socks, undies and tank tops. On the shelf above, I keep all my jeans. My room is so tiny that even a twin bed would take up the whole room.

Gifts suggested one so I'll suggest another. You could get wicker baskets, big enough to hold a great deal. Put them sideways and stack them so that they are like "cubbies". They are cute and effective for storing clothes and the such. They aren't very expensive either, and well there's a lot of places you can find them.

Why should you through out? instead of that I would suggest you to alter the furniture, so that it may fit according to the required space. Source:-
