Ol' Fang Face

So, our next to the youngest cat is two. When he came he was so afraid of everything, but he quickly came around. He's still shy with strangers, but he loves everyone in the house, including the dogs and even cats who hit him, he's just such a happy loving fellow. But when I go to bed, he likes to come and rub his face on me. And he has especially long and sharp fangs. I know he doesn't mean any harm with these teeth, and he's really pretty good with them, but... Sunday morning I burned the back of a finger getting breakfast out of the toaster oven, I should've been more careful... but there we are. And today, when I lay down for a nap, ol' fang face got the blister! That HURT! It also broke it open. Now I'll have to be even more careful of it, especially keeping it from Sparky's teeth! Don't you wish you had these kinds of problems?

OUCH!!! That has to hurt!! Maybe you can bandage it for a day or two just until it starts healing up...ouch, ouch, ouch. Blisters get infected very easily so watch it. You have dogs too? I didn't know that, so where have I been? I don't know if I'd want those problems, haha, but yeh, I guess I miss all those mishaps.

I put some more meds on it and put a band aid on it. Everything I've read said to let burns have air if you can, but if he's going to rub my fingers I guess I'll have to keep it covered. Yeah, we have a couple of old dogs. Zoe, who loves cats and Cujo who isn't so fond, more afraid than anything. Zoe gave Taj, our oldest cat, his first bath.

Oh I know, you are suppose to let it heal in the air, but under the circumstances, I wouldn't take that chance too much since you have so many kitty's around. Just for a couple of days until it starts healing on its own..and DON'T PICK YOUR SCABS! Blaahgg ..yucky. I want you to start a new discussion and show us your dogs now. I don't recall ever seeing them but for some reason now I do remember those names. Maybe I thought you were talking about more cats. I'll tell ya, with everyone's dogs and cats and family problems, and all these names here on myLot, I just can't keep uo!

I DON'T pick my scabs, because every time they itch I remember nagging Mom about doing it and scold myself. Now, because 90% of my scabs are on my legs they are somewhat less tempting than on my arms. HOWEVER, we are always on the new roommate about picking her scabs! She looks like she has some weird disease because she's picked them!

No, we've never had a cat that I'd call Fang-Face. They all have had normal size fangs. However, I have had a problem with cats who wanted to sleep on my face at night. Sleepy was so persistent that we finally had to lock him out of the bedroom at night.

Ping and Pong used to compete to see who could sleep closer to my face when they were kittens. Ping used to ram his hard little head into my nose, I called him "The Nose Breaker" but Pong would actually lay on my face, he got called "The Face Layer"! Happily, none of the cats bother me too much AFTER I'm asleep!

I do have these problems. Creamery (or FlufferNutter, we call him both) has velcro built in, and has lost lots of teeth but not his fangs. He has really long rear claws that act like talons. He is spring loaded and can bounce from the floor to your knee faster than you can put him down, continuously, for it seems like hours. He rubs his face, his drooly chin all over you. Then he will stand on his hind legs and hug you with those long front arms.

Yeah, our toothless cats drool some, Pong more than the other two, but I've had drool hit the face when Taj shakes his head... Timus will hug us, and strop our chins with his face with his arms on either shoulder. We trim back claws too when we need to... Daisy is our spring loaded cat, and she'll jump you when you are standing up!

Shakti has fangs. Next time, wrap the blister in something. Often he'll put his chin on our Laos, and the fangs will dig into our legs. lol

I hadn't had a problem until this afternoon. I've put a band aid around it but I don't have much luck with band aids on my fingers.

Oh I have had similar problems, and all kinds of problems. I'm sorry about your finger but yes try to keep it from the kitty til it gets better. They rub themself on you cause they love you nothing more. Fangs seems like a loving lil guy, so sweet. He has no idea he hurt your finger, believe me. He was just trying to love on ya is all.

His name is really Sparky, because he was found in a car engine. Short for Spark Plug, don't'cha know. He hasn't a mean bone in his body, at least not yet. He's very sweet, but he's not a small cat, not our biggest, that's Booboo, but still about twice the size of Daisy who's 6 months older!

Well, I think even though our pets never mean any harm from things like this, they are prone to rubbing up against areas that might hurt, and then give us a Sad look if we say ouch. Just means you might have to keep it wrapped a little more especially when you are sleeping before the next time.

If you are careful, and only take the tips off, it won't hurt them, cut "up and down" rather than "side to side" to try and keep from splitting the nails and hurting them.

Nah...you can have yours, I have my own. Banjo and Benji, my youngest dog (about 18 mths) seem to be in a relationship. They tussle all the time and play chasings all through the house, leaving footprints on newly made beds and scattering rugs all out of place. Benji likes to hump Banjo when he gets him in position and Banjo takes it - purring away! They are both male. He's only going through the motions (scuse the pun) and I don't know whether to laugh or rouse on him.

Zoe, the roomie's female dog, is always trying to hump the cats. Funniest is when she's trying to get Booboo... he is NOT amused!

I feel your pain. I have these "blood blister" type of spots on my skin. One of them decided to spring a leak this afternoon. Good thing I was wearing work clothes and could sop up the blood with my capris.
