Who will win the coveted Golden Boot in this season's Premier League? Van Persie's recent hat-trick has fired him to favouritism, but can City's Carlos Tevez outgun him? Have Aguero and Rooney's serious injuries left them with too much to do? Or could an outsider snatch the award: maybe Suarez, Podolski or Jelavic?

The front-runner will be the Man Utd pair of Van Persie and Rooney. Their challenge should come from Augero, Ba or Cisse. Suarez misses too many chance and he is not a natural goal scorer. As for Jelavic, he should be among the top scorers but he wont win because he plays for Everton. As for Podolski, it is asking too much of him to do it in his first season. Beside, he is not the main striker, Giroud is.

Thanks for your post. Giroud has not been starting games too much, so I think he is out of the running. Two other contenders have emerged in the form of Defoe and Berbatov, but as the latter plays for Fulham I think we can strike him off! For me it has to be RVP. I really would not be surprised if Utd sold Rooney-watch this space!
