I Finally Got My 1st Article on Helium!

After being on Helium.com since June, after submitting my 1st article in late June and having it rejected because I had too many words and couldn't get a photo in it on time, after missing the deadline of 2 articles that I signed up but never started because of my sleeping/headache problems, on Wed. September 12, after working on my article on global warming, I finally got my 1st article on it for the 1st time! I was determined to get it done. I did the research, writing, editing, word count, photo search, photo upload, last minute info like links and such in the boxes, all in one day. I had looked for info on it earlier in the week and saved it to my desktop, but I did all the work on it in one day! I'm proud of that. I tend to take a few days or more to complete an article. I haven't even worked for money since my last discussion on myLot a few months ago. I've been volunteering all year. But I finally am going to get paid for writing my 1st article on Helium.

Hello, Dcunni. Ten out of ten for perseverance! It's refreshing to read your story - it makes a change from the whingers who claim that Helium is a scam site just because it won't publish their mediocre offerings. Sounds as if you've had a bit of a hectic time, but once you settle into Helium's routine, I'm sure you'll love it there. It's the only writing site I bother with now, and I earn consistently there. The community is also very supportive, and there's a writing mentor - Rachelle de Bretagne - who will be happy to help. I'm a Channel Manager and Editor at Helium, so if I can help, just message me over there. There's a link to my 'About Me' page on my MyLot profile. Congratulations - and good luck for your future at Helium.

Thank you for your compliments. I know Rachelle. She wrote me after my article was published & I wrote about it in the discussion board. Thank you for your offer to help me. I have signed up for 2 articles this week. I hope I feel well this coming week to work on it earlier than I did the last article.

Rachelle is very helpful, and understands the problems new writers have. What's your pen name on Helium? I'd like to read your stuff and take a look at the discussion. I'm sure you'll soon get into the swing of things and earn well. Remember to rate articles so you get your rating star to earn page revenue.

I use the same one as I do on myLot. I still have yet to rate articles, with me being so busy with chores & errands, I haven't even had time to read the newspaper. But I will tomorrow, and start on my article too, for Thurs.

hey, that's great! it is always exciting when you get paid for your writing and get paid for something that you have made or done yourself; when someone is willing to pay for your ideas.

Congratulations! I haven't been on Helium for ages. Alot of them come and go. Sites that is. Global warming is an interesting subject. I wish you luck with the article and hope you continue to write many articles. I need to get back to it. I haven't written anything in months except on here.

Hi Dcunni, that seems like a lot of effort for one article. You should be proud of your work, just hope that the article gets many views, and reward you handsomely. I think once you get used to the standard in Helium, it will be easier to write, and earn from there.
