Conflicting stories from the busybodies

I was told my apartment is very cold in the winter and that is why the last people moved out. Before that somebody else told me the person moved to Germany. Then the last busybody who is kind of a friend of my aunts told me not to listen to these people, they don't know what they are talking about and the women and her son did not leave and go to Germany nor did they leave because it was cold, they left because they found a place closer to where they worked. The lesson here is not to listen to anyone.

Even if they left because it was cold to them doesn't mean you will find it cold. My friend Juanita complains that my place is too warm in the summer and too cold in the winter (for her) but it's just right for me.

So you will have two outside exposures, and that may make things feel colder. You will end up doing something to compensate if it is chilly. I have a heated mattress pad on my bed, for instance. We can get away with not heating the upstairs at all because we mostly just sleep there and the bed is toasty warm. Your are smart and resourceful if you find it to be chilly.

Yes that is true, but I live in the corner apt and that would be the closest apt if it is cold at all.

Over the years, I have learned that most of what many people say should be taken with a grain of salt. In many cases, you are best to just take it with the whole salt mine... The other lesson you can take from this is to be careful what you say around these people. However, it is useful if you want to spread a particular rumor throughout the building--just choose the biggest gossip of the group and tell her whatever it is that you want to get around.

Like you're actually a millionaire but like slumming it with the common people?

I think that I know a few of your busy bodies. Yes, there are people who will make stuff up, even if they do not know a smidgen of the truth. Sometimes only time will tell, like with the story about the apartment being cold. Other times, it does not really make one bit of difference to you. . . like the story about Germany. I am just glad you have a new place where your electricity is not subject to constant surges.

I think we all know busybodies who have nothing better to do than to know everyone else's business and then to report on them. I was a little afraid at first about the place being cold, but now I am just going to wait and see.

That's true winterose. Sometimes , it's best bot to listen to stories of your neighbors to be , so as not to get scared in living in your new apartment. Though, be friendly to them so you will have a nice relationship with them.

Yeah. Take what everyone says with a grain of salt and form your own opinions. Don't you have a thermostat to set the heat where you want it?

Yes I have a thermostat but you don't understand, it colder climates it all depends on how well the house is insulated, and whether you are on the corner of the street or in front of wide open spaces because that is what makes a house colder even when you heat to full blast.
