They are unsightly. I used to have healthy skin when I was a teenager (few pimples on my face but not in any other parts of my body) now I hate the acne at my back and arms.A friend of mine told me that it also has something to do with hormonal imbalance aside from active sebaceous glands. How do I get rid of this? any suggestion friends...

It is bad that you have pimples on the shoulders and back. acne can be caused by dandruff also and i would suggest to check if you have dandruff. when they fall on the back and shoulders they cause acne. And also some people have it on their forehead and dandruff is the main reason in many cases. So, see if you have dandruff. Thanks for sharing and have a wonderful day ahead.

Try to consult a dermatologist, for they will know better on how to deal with it. Different people has different type of skin and the degree of the problem. I'm for one, also have the same problem, my doctor gave me a specialized gel, ointment and antibiotics. So far, it's ok now, since I started my medication for over a month. That's odd. Usually teens have the bad skin. You can do several things. Change your diet for one. No oily, greasy foods. And get a loofa with a long handle on it. Use in the shower with warm water. Keep that top layer of skin clean and any skin off that will come. You could also check out Proactiv.com. Check this out also:

I do have them too. I got active sweat glands and I perspire a lot. That is my theory about it. But still, some doctors say that many individuals have active sweat glands but don't get such pimples at the back. I also want to make my back skin healthier too. Now I am trying out some active body wash. I hope it will prevent abnormalities with my skin.

Some areas on you're back are hard to reach. You might want to find a good loofa to reach those areas or find someone who wouldn't mind scrubbing your back for you when you wash. Avoiding oily foods is also a good deterrent. Lastly, I'm sure they make some special cleanser to prevent body acne, you might have to do some research.
