My friend started a discussion about having a cup of herbal tea.

I wonder how many of us then felt like we must go make some tea to drink after reading it. I did. I had ginger lemon tea. The weather is getting cool enough for me to enjoy hot tea. I will drink hot coffee year around, but other hot beverages wait until cool weather. I know many cultures drink tea year around, even hot tea. I like both the black and green teas and herbal teas. I had some the other day that had cherry essence in black tea. So, how often are you influenced by a discussion here and have to go do something because of it? Have you had some tea today? Am I making you want to go have some tea? At least I did not start a discussion about a high fat food.

Brrrrrr. It is a little too chilly for iced tea tonight it seems to me. I like it in the daytime, though. Freshly brewed. I know you like lime, I like either lime or lemon.

Yes, I like Constant Comment in my iced tea as well. I also like peppermint in my iced tea.

This is part constant comment and part regular tea - decaf since that's what the other two need, I'd happily drink caffeinated. I like lime, I really like orange, I guess my feelings about lemon are because its just so overdone...

It doesn't take much to make me want a cup of hot tea no matter if it's hot or cold out. I don't drink coffee any more, but I have read discussions that make me wish I could! I have caved in to having snacks after reading something on here, too. And thanks for not discussing high fat food!

We do what we can. I made sure my tea was decaf and now I am ready to go to bed. I really like herbal teas as they do seem relaxing and there are so many health benefits. I find that drinking coffee sometimes makes me want sweet goodies but drinking tea does not. I will probably be drinking more this winter.

I don't want sweet goodies with tea, but I do want salty ones, or something like buttered toast. I like herbal tea as well as regular tea, too, but I seldom drink caffeinated anything. Thank heavens for decaf tea!

I am not a tea drinker; I might drink tea 1-2 times a year and that is on the high side. Of course I am not including the vinegar honey tea I drink once in a while. I much prefer coffee and I am drinking a hot cup now because it is so cold this morning..Brrrr

I am a coffee drinker as well. Year around I like a cup or two hot in the mornings. I prefer tea to pop, though. I will also drink the vinegar honey drink because it is a general health booster.

I don't drink pop either and when I go out, I get water instead since I really don't like cold tea and drinking hot black tea; it's difficult to find a good herbal tea in restaurants..

I believe I might have replied to your friends discussion on tea. I love tea and living in Puerto Rico I still drink at least one cup a day. Whether its regular, green or herbal. I love it and just the thought of tea makes me want to make a cup right now. However, its to late now because if I have a cup I will be up and down all night going to the bathroom. I usually have to have my cup of tea at night before 9pm and right now its almost midnight. I will have a cup first thing when I awake in the morning.

Our bladders get pretty bossy. I was up a lot, but I do not know if it was the cup of tea or the fact that I did not eat my protein snack. Anyway, I am up and having coffee and getting ready to go to work.

Its definitely the tea. If I don't have a cup at all at night I'm good all night in not getting up. So that is why I truly believe its the tea. When I drink tea its a big cup of tea about 10 ounces. So that may be the problem. I can't have a small cup its just never enough.

I like tea, but there's none made right now. My favorite is white pomegranate from Trader Joe's, but I'm supposed to drink green tea, and I prefer Bigelow Green with Lemon. I also like green with jasmine. I haven't been making herbal tea lately because in summer we don't drink as much tea at night. I usually make a pot of white or green tea in the morning all year. In winter I will make a poet of chamomile with raspberry or some other fruity flavor (one bag each) for evening. We use the microwave to reheat what we don't drink when first brewed. It works for us. In summer, we just don't finish the herbal tea before it spoils, so I don't make it except by special request.

White and green teas are great, with herbal or floral flavors. I think the fruity chamomile would be great before bed. I got to rummaging and found a cranberry zinger, but I tend to save zinger teas for the day time.

This kind of thing doesn't really affect my desire for a drink but, it can, and often does, affect me with wanting some kind of FOOD. I have seen recipes that looked good to me and made me go out and find all the stuff needed to make it. It doesn't matter to me whether it's high fat or not, usually. I usually pay for the high fat thingy a bit later.

I have been going through cupboards and canisters and I find that I have such a variety that with a discussion like this motivating me I plan to use some of those lovely teas up. The foods I decide I want usually involve cheese or butter or cream cheese. . . so good. I like spicy meals as well.

It made me want to go buy a kettle. I'd like to drink more tea, the kind that is supposed to be good for you for different health reasons. I doubt they'll taste as good as regular tea, but perhaps I'm wrong. Maybe every super healthy tea does not taste as bad as I think.

Just about any tea is supposed to be healthy one way or another. Constant Comment, as Finlander was mentioning, is not sold as a health tea, but it is full of cinnamon and cloves and orange peel, and it tastes really good hot or iced. Long John Silvers used to have that for their tea. You can really set a mood with various teas, and things like peppermint tea are supposed to be good for your digestion, etc. Teas that have slippery elm are good when you have a sore throat.

The first tea that I would suggest that you try is CONSTANT COMMENT. It has an interesting flavor and not overly strong even if you let it sit in your cup for a long time. Give it a try and I think you'll enjoy it.

Hi GG, It sure is the time of year for some nice hot tea. Getting pretty chilly here in Ohio and my windows aren't as open as they use to be. I too mostly drink tea in the cooler months. I just had some the other day and it was sooo good, haven't had it in a while. I like the Green tea and some of the herbal one's, but I can only have the de-caff, otherwise I'm up all night. I know some discussions talk about food and if it's around dinnertime, they make me hungry and off I go to eat, lol!

*Goes to start a discussion about chesecake* I must not have seen the discussion of which you speak or I'd be enjoying a hot cup of tea as well. I do have tea, and you do make me want to get some. Especially now that my bones are a bit chilled, though it's 62 degrees winds N at 14 MPH here. It is getting to be that time of year again and soon I'll be making my own coffee and enjoying my own tea as well. My favorite is green tea with jasmine or raspberry tea.

Both of those are delicious teas and I think I have some on hand. I know, 62 does not really sound cold but it certainly can chill you to be in the wind. I am also looking for excuses to wear long sleeves.

You need to be munching on raisins for the anemia. I wore three quarter length sleeves today. It is 70. Not really chilly now, but at 5:30 this morning it was.

It is colder today then it was yesterday. Yesterday I was a bit chilled and I had a family member tell me it's not cold at all. Of course then she proceeded to make me give her my finger to test if I am anemic, which of course I am. It's almost long sleeve weather.

Yup, I read it and thought about going to the cabinet and seeing what kind of tea I had. But I somehow got distracted. I think there's some green tea in there and some kind of another mixture. Isn't it funny how strong is the power of suggestion? So....I still may get in there and fix a cup of hot tea. I'm not much on iced tea now that it's cooler. And, anyway, I don't think I have any ice cubes made.

I am really grateful that you did not start a discussion on high fat food! I was brought up in the U.K. and learned from an early age to drink tea. I have cut down on the number of drinks of tea or coffee that I used to consume each day but have upped my consumption of herbal teas. I have a pot of peppermint growing outde of my door at home and it is so easy to cut off a few stalks and brew tea. I also have lemon grass and always have stem ginger around to make tea. I actually like garlic tea sweetened and this is so good for high blood pressure and many other illments. Hmm, maybe I will raid my sister's store cupboard and see if she has any tea

no doubt, tea always been my daily beverages menu that I can't left. I used to drink hot tea+milk or hot tea+milk+honey. I love both black or green tea, but rarely enjoy herbal tea

I saw this and had to go start a pot of tea. I like black, strong tea best and your cherry essence sounds delicious! I'm not crazy about herbal teas but I do have some Echinacea tea and I found some Electrici-tea for energy. I like to eat Walker's Shortbread cookies with my tea. And discussions on food always make me go looking for something to eat. So I'm glad you didn't start one on high fat food. And I hadn't even been thinking of tea until I saw your discussion. I would like to drink green tea but it seems to not have much flavor (to me). I have also tried gunpowder green tea but didn't like that either. I bought some Chocolate tea once. I think that was from Trader Joe's. It had a slight chocolatey flavor to it. My favorite is Russian black tea because it's so strong. Maybe you can tell me, GG, if tea goes stale? I have a lot of different teas but I have too many to drink and I wonder if they stay fresh or not. Quite a few are in canisters that they came in. I found some really good teas in nice containers in Marshall's. But I don't think I can drink it all. This is an interesting discussion. Tea is such a great drink.

I think it will eventually lose some of its flavor if it sits too long. I am needing to use up a bunch of the interesting ones I have. Some seem more suited to puttin in iced tea, others I only want hot. Now I need to go find my recipe for brown sugar shortbread. I was at a Scottish Festival this weekend and the little girls with me saw some Walkers tins.

Occasionally this might work, but actually even in cold weather I do not much care for hot tea. I like it iced and often spiced with milk and ice. We just got back from 4 months up in the San Francisco Bay Area, and on the trip back as we got nearer to our desert the weather was quite hot. So I was delighted when upon checking in at a motel about 4 pm they had chai tea and hot water to make it and ice cubes and "cream" with which I made a huge glass of iced tea which I nursed through a two hour movie in our room before going out for dinner.

I like ice tea especially raspberry tea and peach tea. I could never get into hot tea. It me a while like hot coffee but I preferr coffee over the tea. There are so many kinds out there. I know many people enjoy hot tea especally before bed time or early evening too. They sell a lot around Thanksgiving and Christmas time as gifts and welcome or thank you at party etc... Thanks Unique16

I love teas, any teas, so I let you know that I drink hot tea almost everyday year round. Doesn't matter if the weather is hot or cold, I still drink tea. Often I had ginger tea. Yes, sometimes a discussion prompts us to do something, like when a friend posted a discussion how she do a sit up every morning for 100x, I followed it. I got flatter stomach and healthier mood. I just didn't do it for 100x, I varied it with other movements till I got that 100x number...

The same with me,I don't like putting something including sugar in the tea. That will destroy its distinctive flavour.
