I got direct tv last week and I am so loving having the music channels to listen to. I have listened to two different country classic channels and am hearing songs that I had forgotten about. I am loving it! Do you have a favorite music channel you listen to or a certain genre that is your favorite?

I love the old classic country songs. They really make me feel and you could hear their love of entertaining others in their words. Enjoy and I just might turn on the country channel now.

" I was country when country wasn't cool." This sentence describes my musical existence from age 5 til 13. My mom, G-d bless and keep her, was into Willie , Waylon, Kris, And George Jones. I used to sing along with these songs! I still have more country 45's than any other genre. Mom and I did like what I call the revival of the classic country sound that came up in the 90's. You know Alan Jackson, Randy Travis, George Strait, Vince Gill! But these days it seems like they think if they add a fiddle to a pop song they can call it country. sorry I rather play some Patsy Cline and call it a day. It was great until I got my rock and roll heart.Willie made room for Def Leppard and Aerosmith and then in the 90's Nirvana and Soundgarden. But to this day it feels good to hear Real country music.

I do like a lot of the country music out there and will listen to it but prefer the oldies. I've always been a huge Elvis fan so he is my first choice when I'm in the car. Serius radio is great and my favorite station is Elvis right from Graceland. I do love the newer country song called "Pontoon." Can't remember who sings it right now but it's just great. Enjoy your Direct TV.

I love country music. It's my favorite. On my ipod you'll find rock, alternative, country, Christian, folk, and pop, but my favorite is country. This morning I was flipping through radio stations and I heard and oldie but goodie. So I started singing in my car, "When I die, I may not go to Heaven. 'Cause I don't know if they let cowboys in. If they don't, just let me go to Texas. 'Cause Texas is as close as I'll get." Love that song! Sure, newer country is more my style, but there is always room for some Tanya Tucker or Johnny Cash.

I have grown over the years to like country music. I think because the words sung are a story. You get the beginning, the middle and the end and this makes it attractive to me.
I do listen to music a lot and I can hear a song and rememeber the occasion when I danced to the music and sometimes even remember what I was wearing at the time so vivid does it become. And of course, I will hear songs that can make me cry. On the few occasions that I quarrelled with my husband or became cross, he would sing, 'She's once, twice, three times a Lady' and I would laugh at myself and him.

Check this out-Blue Grass and Classic Rock! Strange, I know. I have to listen to the bluegrass by myself with headphones. My favorites are Orange Blossom Special and In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida. At least I have a diversified musical interest.
