...have you ever tried home TV shopping?

There is a product that I am eyeing to buy on HSN (or home TV shopping). You probably seen one of the ads they have on free channels advertising form home equipment to hair-loss and personal care. Of course, the prices are really cheap or high, depending if you find an alternative product. I think I would like to try this kind of shopping since some of the products in the market are hardly reliable anymore. And well, the preservation and the product seems really good. But I would like to ask some one from people who tried this stuff here in the country. I know that Americans do a lot of these but I am not sure if fellow Filipino have caught on this yet.

I have done tv shopping many times. A couple of times a got disappointed but some of my buys are good ones. I think it depends on what you buy. Also you must not accept if they delivers you another brand which happens to me once. They are reasoning that the brand I order is out of stock and the one they are delivering is a good replacement which I didn't accept.

Thanks for the tips.I didn't know that they will exchange a product or brand without notice. It will probably infuriate me that what they are delivering is not what you ordered.

I have seen that product. As much as I would to buy cookware, my mother will throw a fit. She said that we had cookware to last a lifetime and generations. We even use the cookware gifted to her and my dad when they were married and still have some more when they celebrated their anniversary. Since one in our house is really a cook by nature, they aren't really utilized except for meals.

i have tried this (actually my mom), and well she very well ordered some good stuffs as they look in the television but it was quite different when the product arrived at home. I think starting this experience, we never really get to trust home tv shopping anymore. hehe

Thanks for sharing your experience. This is what I am looking for. I guess the commercial really impressed your mom when she was considering buying it. But like any product, it loses its appeal when you really looked at it and used it. Thankfully, there are reliable products out there and they are really worth the money paid for.

I have not tried home TV shopping, but I think now a days home shopping is getting popular and most people are doing home shopping. The good thing about home TV shopping is that one can get good deals through it.

I'm also a novice at this thing. I haven't tried shopping unless you account coming to the store, picking an item and personally paying for-it. I have my own reservations about this practice which the reason that I opened this discussion,

we only bought one thing from the home shopping channel here in Canada and that was a keyboard (when keyboards first came out, yes, a long time ago). we had it for a long time and enjoyed it. i would be buying a lot of jewelry on there but fortunately for my pocketbook, i don't own a credit card (which is what they take).

I don't have one either. I learned from my mom the hassle of getting and using one. I am the one who does the paying of the bill (with her money) since she is so busy to attend to these kind of things. Cash is always better for shopping. Besides, if you ran out of cash you'll be forced to save your money for the future.

This is something that I do quite a lot towards Christmas, because you can get things that are quite unique that you wouldn't be able to see in the shops. I always keep the channel on in an evening because you can see things that just catch your eye and you realise that they would be the perfect gift for a member of your family. I would never buy things without having a specific purpose in mind for them though, as that is how you can get into trouble because you end up spending lots of money on things that you won't ever even have a use for.

Thanks for the tip. I think that it can be a convenient way to shop especially around Christmas since you can have almost everything for everybody. And yes,you could see some products that some stores don't carry.

Hi Jeanney, I enjoy watching home tv shopping but I have never tried actually buying from them. I do occasional online shopping but I'm not comfortable with TV shopping, yet. I still prefer the traditional way of buying things from shopping centers and department stores where I can see the products and scrutinize them before parting with my hard-earned money.

They are times when I see those products on TV on actual stores. But they are priced high. Also, I like the idea that I can also touch them or see the product by myself and ask questions about it. You'll never know if the one you're buying is really quality or just TV spin.
