My hair dyeing ~ my gold chain

India
September 27, 2012 1:29am CST
I always wear a gold chain, it is made of pure gold, weighs 40 grams, it has a locket, in which a ‘moon-stone’ is set; this moon stone has Shiv-lingam engraved in it. 3 days ago I dyed my hair with herbal dye as usual, I removed this chain while dyeing and kept it below the land phone for safety. Next I travelled to meet my guruji as I have said elsewhere; I had totally forgotten about it; I admit I forget things these days; might be effect of age or diabetes neuropathy. Today my granddaughter Subhi marked it and asked me about the chain; I checked and found it intact below the phone. Hard earned money is always safe; this is my view. Your say on this? Do you dye your hair yourself; what kind of dye you use? If I get it done in a saloon, it costs 100 rupees, they use chemical based dyes; more over I have to go there and wait for hours. How much it costs there? Do you wear jewelry, do you remove them frequently; say during shower or bath; hair dyeing? Please comment on this and share your views. Thanks in advance. Prof. Bhuwan September 27 2012.

Professor bhaiya: I do not wear jewelleries. In 1976 at the time of marriage the in laws presented a ring. I did not wear even for a day. It is always kept inside a locker. I am not having much hair. So I have not used dye so far. the question of forgetting jewelleries is not there. I always forget about two cell phones I carry I place them in different places and then search--also pen, note books etc. i use to misplace and search vigorously. good day.

Hello my friend Professor2010 Ji, Well, first of all I wish to convey that we never resort to un-natural tricks to be against nature. If I am 67 and my hubby another +7 yrs, why to hide taht we are quite young. I do not find any raeson to waste my hardened mpney as you have termed here. Who knows, what they do in saloons. We should look like our age and appearnces as nature wants us. May God bless You and have a great time

Hello Professor. I have a lot of gray hairs. Each month when I have my hair cut, I have it dyed. I used to have it dyed a lot by my barber when my wife was not here with me. Now I have my haircut and come back home for my wife to dye my hair. It saves some money this way. By the way, I do not wear any jewelry. So I don't have to worry about it being dyed. Take care, Professor.

I personally dye my hair, friend. Before my chemo, I dyied with stroger products. Then a stylist that was a cousin of my favorite cousin saw me and decided tho take me under her wing. There she did wonders in dying and cutting. But the I lost my hair and it`s slowly comming back. My new hair is like a baby`s: very thin. And the dermatologist said I should anly use castings that have less chemicals. As for jewelry, I`m only using some small earrings now. Bigger jewelry don`t loot nice with not much hair, as I see it. I take them off when I dye my hair. Take care!

I have had my hair dyed in the past. I haven't gotten it done it in a while. I have done it myself with the help of friend and I've also had it done in the hair salon as well. It coast me about $75 to get done when in the salon at home $10 once I have everything. Yes I do wear jewelry I almost ever take them off. I take my ear rings out when I take a baths and showers but that is it.

Nice to know, you do it yourself, it is not only economical but time saving too Yes if one has stone set jewelry, best to remove them during bath.

I keep my rings on when I bath as well as my neckless. All of them have diamons or some kind of stone in them. I just don't like wearing my ear rings when I need to wash my hair they are the only thing I take out and only one of them has opals in them and the other set is just gold no diamons or anything in them. Yes it can save money doing it yourself but I would do it with a friend. I prefer having it done at the salon by a professional then friend.

I am happy that you recovered your gold chain. "Hard earned money is always safe" Unfortunately I can not agree with this. It is safe as long as you keep it safe! Back in the 80's Disco Days, when I was much younger I always dyed my hair...sometimes green sometimes blue...whatever my mind deemed that was "cool". Of course that was many years ago. Now I do not bother with my hair at all. I keep it short and whatever color it wants to be...mostly grey. One reason is that being an elder in Thailand gives me a position of respect and people watch out for me if I am heading in the wrong direction. The other reason is that there is so much room on the back of my head that is not growing hair anymore it would look silly! As far as jewelry is concerned I do not wear any nor do I wish to. The only thing I wear and only when I go a distance from my home is my personal Buddha around my neck and a string Buddha around my left wrist. And these are not for showing off, but for my protection.

I do not dye my hair, however I do wear jewelry. I take my jewelry off when I am bathing or cleaning house. I am so afraid that my wedding ring or engagement ring may fall off and go down the drain. I have a bowl in the kitchen and also one in the bathroom where I put my rings in so I know they will not get lost. Randy is diabetic and has neuropathy and was not aware of the fact that a person with this condition can be forgetful so thank you for sharing this piece of information with me.

Namaskar Sir It is good that you have trusted people in your house because I do remember an instance of my mom forgetting her gold chain(necklace) and it was stolen by a maid who had been serving us since the days of my grandmother. As you know, I dont really go out much and also I dont have much of gray hair as of now. So I prefer not to dye or use anything to hide those gray hair. But of course, my wife does. She as you know is a teacher and her accident that she had some years back (on a rajgangpur to bhubaneswar bus in 2004-5) has made her hair weak and also they gray soon. She uses the Henna (mehndi) for coloring her hair. We both prefer using normal and natural colors rather than colors. Though today's colors from godrej are said to be better than what we used to have earlier, but still, natural ones are preferable. As for jewellery... my wife only wears one golden chain around her neck and a pair of earrings which I had got for her. She cares for those much better than me - as I know I am still quite careless

I use Heena to change the color of my hair. I apply it myself on my hair on some weekend. Coming to wearing ornaments or jewelry, yes I wear a silver chain with a locket in which there is a 'emerald' and on also 3 silver finger rings. Each finger ring has one precious stone on it, one of them is having 'moon-stone' too. I do remove them sometimes during bath. but put them back immediately.
