but on the saving mode so I made my own pizza out of food scraps.I don't have pizza dough so I used pandesal leftover from this morning's breakfast. I used Hanes catsup instead of tomato sauce, and a little bit of ground beef then cheese, garnished with onions, sprinkled some pepper ,put them in microwave oven and voila!.My homemade pizza!
I started jotting down my daily expenses a couple of months ago and I found out that most of my expenses goes to snacks and knick knacks. So I vowed to cut off from buying unhealthy snacks.Today I was able to 300 Php (pizza + vat + delivery fee) Yey!

I think that's just great. My nephew and I made that a few weeks back, it was our "bonding" time and I wanted to show him that he could make his own food and it'll be fun. He ended up eating a lot of those and at least he truly did have fun. But I didn't used pan de sal, I used American bread. Then topped with ham and pineapple (which is his favorite) then cooked the catsup with a little bit of onion (he doesn't like raw onion taste) and of course lotsa cheese! Then popped it in the oven toaster! It was great!
Have a great mylot experience ahead!

Hi Belle, I don't know what "pandesal" is, but I use to, (and should do it again) make a lot of homemade pizza crusts and freeze them. Then when I want pizza, I take out 1-2 crusts, depending on how many are eating, and I use spaghetti sauce and shred some cheese on top for a delicious homemade pizza..

Pandesal is a Filipino bread made of flour, yeast and salt. It a staple breakfast best eaten together with a cup of coffee or milk. Some people stuff it with peanut butter, cheese or mayonnaise but I like to eat it without stuffings.

I see, I looked it up, it sounds delicious...But on this site: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pandesal, they look like they are not flat bread, like pita is. Did you slice it and then add the sauce?

You can eat it anyway you want :) Some people dip it in coffee. When my mom eats pandesal she puts stuffing in it like, tuna, mayonnaise, peanut butter, cheese or fried eggs. You can put any stuffing you like. I've tried eating it with condensed milk, it really tastes good. Also, spaghetti sauce makes it yummy.

Good for you, that was very creative to do. It does save lots of money and it is tasty and probably healthier too. Good job. I am not familiar with pandesal, but I can look it up. We might use half an English muffin or a tortilla or other flat bread the same way.

Congrats for successfully cutting your budget in junk foods, I also realise that before that extra
Expenses comes from junk foods that also damage my health and weight
.
I also do that before pandesal pizza when I was run out of dough but I put it on the oven instead of
microwave.

Good for you as homemade pizza is really easy to make and can taste really good if one perfects the recipe. I make homemade pizza every 2 weeks or so as I don't like ordering and waiting etc as I prefer to stay home, work and have it done right in my backyard. Sticking to a budget is one of the hardest things but for sure holds the key to a lot of success in the future so keep it up.

I love home made pizza. It's easy, quick, cheaper, and always a favorite at my home.
I always have some flat bread, pizza sauce, and shredded cheese available at home.
It's one of several easy dishes my teenage sons are able to make for themselves...

I was also craving for some pasta, but since I'm still on diet I just have to control my cravings.
I like your idea for home made pizza. That's exactly the kind of thing that will make my siblings eat eftovers. Well, you know how kids are, they don't like to eat food that's been served before.
