An update on that annoying morning call

I've been meaning to make another discussion to let everyone know what happened after I posted the last discussion.
Well those who don't know, I got a call a few days ago at 8 am from A "telemarketing company". Well it was Chase Bank. I called twice that morning to let them know I wasn't happy, the second time was more... how do you say? Polite.
In any case, I get a call AGAIN at 1 pm that same day. Oh woman is unhappy now. So I called back and asked to be directed to America.
Smart People, sort of. I get put on hold for a moment and then when they come back, It's clear it's someone whose doing an American Accent. I was upset but I was very polite, then they kept trying to interrupt me. Oh I got mad then, yelled, she yelled and then I asked to speak to the supervisor but ended up hanging up.
I call back, THIS TIME saying "I would like to be directed to America, NOT SOMEONE ACTING LIKE AN AMERICAN." It took longer this time but I was sent back to America. I talked to someone in Illinois, and they helped me.
Apparently they were looking for a "Jamaal". I told her the only person I know is a person I work with, but they don't know my number or anything so they couldn't have used my phone number.
She let me know that she was putting in a claim to take my number out of their system.
So I won't be getting bothered by them again.
This isn't the first time I've gotten a call from a company for someone else. This was just the first time it was so darn difficult to get across to someone.
Have you had some company call asking for someone else?

All the time. I keep getting phone calls on our new phone for somebody named Heidi. It seems like some kind of collection call, and I have never actually picked up the phone when they have called and they don't leave any number so that I can all them back and tell them they have the wrong number. I have also gotten collection calls for a couple of relatives of mine. When I tell them that those people don't live here and they ask me if I know them I will tell them I do and of course then they want their phone number, that is when I tell them if they wanted them to have their phone number than they would already have it and if they are doing business with them then why don't they have their phone numbers? It's insane really.

I've had this number for about three years. There was a period of time that I did not have the number though, as I went with another company but when I re-activated, they gave me the number I had before.
So I'm not sure if someone had my number inbetween or what, but I've gotten two calls for different people on this number alone.
I've gotten calls asking about a family member, but that was on the landline, I just tell them they aren't available. They keep calling back, and the relative is still never available lol.
My grandfather has a diferent tactic, he speaks french and that makes the person hang up faster, lol.

I imagine the company never called back after that?

yes they call all the time. i guess they are just pretending to call someone else when you start inquiring. I don't know, I get knew numbers and then they say a name that they want to talk to. I get fed up of it too. I don't like telemarketing at all. it is a mere disturbance. Thanks for sharing and have a wonderful day ahead.

Well at first the person did seem to "pretend" as like I said when I did get directed it was to a different person it seemed, but definitely not an American as they tried very valiantly to mimic our accent, but I could tell I wasn't in America. Even if I had gotten a person of another race then myself, there is a distinct way to tell that they are in America.. I know that sounds very odd, and I'm not even sure what I am saying.
Hopefully they will stop calling us so much though, right?

Well, with the Cable company I have a phone number. It is included like a package deal, and made having Cable and the internet cheaper by doing it this way. I was always getting calls from Pharmacies and other places for other people, and even collection agencies, etc. and kept on telling all of them I do not know the people they are trying to reach, and I have had this number for quite a while now, so they need to remove this number from their system. Many times it never works.

I get the calls on my cellphone. I've had the number for quite awhile as well, though I did have a point in time where I didn't have it for says six months or so but then got my phone back and thus the same number as well.
Most of the calls I get you don't find out the name of the person they are trying to reach unless you call them back and talk to them. Then again it is usually not a pharmacy but rather an insurance company or someone looking for their money.

Sometimes they only do that for making excuses looking for someone
only just to make a call. I'm receiving the same phone calls last year
and it's very annoying when your sleeping or in the middle of something.
I do take down the phone number and try to remember and if they call again
I just don't answer or I just hang up.

This company never left a message and you wouldn't know what company they were exactly until an actual represtentative answered. I only found out the name of the person after talking to someone in America about it and finally getting them to take me completely off the list.
I tend to either ignore it, but if it gets to where they call so much I get upset and start yelling.

Oh I would be fu,ing after the whole acting crap. I know when I call the Royal Bank or Bell Canada I hit 2 for French I know Ill get someone from Canada normally you get someone from India who barely speaks english. I remember in college we got a call on our phone landline which was registered in my landlords name, we never used it. They called for Samantha which is my sisters name, and OSAP which is student loans. So we give the phone to my sister, and you could heat the person yelling at her looking for their payments. Supposeable the person who lived there last years name was Samantha, and she wasnt making her payments.
