I finally brought protection

We have been worried because Hubbby is getting much worse about his short term memory. We needed something that he could carry that would put him in touch with 911 or medical staff if he was lost or injured on the ranch. The I've fallen and I can't getup just wouldn't work for us. It's limited to a number of feet within a house. On the ranch it is easy to get down a cliff or in the creek not to mention it doesn't take long to walk several miles into the hills. What I found has GPS and will call for help from almost everywhere, as long as there are cell towers. We have more and more all the time and our whole valley is pretty well covered. So that should be OK. What I didn't find was one that would also allow him to call home. Most plans are so expensive that we couldn't afford them but this one is under $15.00 per month. The instrument and set up fees equal about $100.00 Most others start at $300.00. I am sure as more andbetter things come along, this will not be the only money I spend on this, but we couldn't just let him go around without this type of protection.

Techmology is improving every day as G Gertie says. And it also gets less expensive too. I remember the first time I heard about a DVD player. Mu sister could buy one because both her husband and her earn very good wages. I couldn“t. Now Everyone has one. I hope fhese devises to help us, older people get better as tiem goes by. Everyone has now a GPS at their car (except me) Maybe the next step is to have these devises cheaper.

Hi savypat, Sorry that things are getting worse with your husband but I feel certain that you are doing the right thing. It's sad that these things are so expensive but as you say, more and better things will come around and you will get what you need. Blessings.

The technology seems to be improving all the time. If I ever need this kind of help it will be good to know others have researched the options and found some good ones. This sounds as if it will help your hubby maintain his independence longer. Those bracelets and necklace options are easy to accidentally trigger.
