I finally watched this movie lastnight. It was the weirdest thriller I have seen in a long time. Nothing like what you think it will be. It is somewhat like Hunger Games in a way. I thought it was interesting. Have you seen it? What did you think?

Funny scenes and dialogues? Maybe in the office part. No, not "A Cabin in Da Hood" at all. I guess i got something totally different out of it.

Well, they take a while to make a good movie. Wouldn't be as much fun if they were made right after one another. I was disappointed on this new Dark Shadows. I will have to see it but just do not like it being comedic. I used to hurry home from school to watch the original tv series so I take the movies very seriously. I don't like them making fun of the story.

Dark Shadows was really bad. And I absolutely love vampire movies -- even those low-rent ones like the one Ethan Hawke starred in a few years ago. But Dark Shadows disappointed me in numerous ways. I didn't like the Hunger Games either. So much hype for that movie. The original was much better, if you guys haven't seen it. Before they renamed it Hunger Games, it was called Surviving the Game, and it starred Ice T and Gary Busey. I feel like the biggest movie scrooge around, which isn't even the case. I love movies! I have a bunch on my PC now that I'm really looking forward to watching: Moonrise Kingdom, The Intruders, Red Lights, That's My Boy, 21 Jump Street, Expendables 2, and a few others. But the more I look forward to them, the worse they seem to be.

I want to see this movie. It got such great reviews it is hard to believe it was just sitting on the shelf for so long, waiting for a release date. They are lucky to get Chris Hemsworth before he got famous as Thor. I want to see it sometime as I heard it was pretty inventive.

Celtice, so far i haven't seen this movie yet. But, a week ago i had seen the trailer of it while browsing through Youtube. Although this movie seems quite interesting but at the same time quite confusing as well. A lot of twist, right. Maybe i should watch it first then can give the conclusion of it.

I liked Hunger Games. I think it was more of a modern day Gladiator... Granted its two completely different story lines. But that is the easiest way of explaining it to people that haven't seen the movie. By explaining it that way it doesn't give away any of the movie. In both movies the 'players' are slaves, fighting for their lives. The playing field is not equal, have to play a certain way to get fans to stay alive.. Hopefully it never happens.. But the hunger games was written so well that it one of those movies that make me think.. This could really happen.. It made the movie even more interesting when I watched it for the second time.. Had too many interruptions the first time i watched it..

I liked Hunger Games too. It is interesting how people chose to describe certain situations. It did make a lot of since. But the move A Cabin in the Woods was set up like Hunger Games in the games portion of it. Both were very interesting and cause for thought on different levels.

I thought it was a total cop-out in order to make money and to intentionally stomp all over one of the most celebrated genres in movie history. And this is coming from a guy who likes a wide assortment of horror flicks. The buzz surrounding the movie was incredible. Even the gang at Rotten Tomatoes was giving it high praise. But to me, it failed to live up to any of it. The typical formula for a slasher flick--the jock, the ho, the nerd, the virgin, the stoner--was explicitly put on blast, as if to give a peek behind the curtain. Which the movie did later on, in unceremonious fashion. To play the whole set-up-for-higher-earth-gods bit was, in my mind, a disgusting lack of creativity. Oh, we can't be just like every other zombie movie, and vampires and werewolves are played out, so let's take what exists, claim every single creature to ever be feared as our own, and give every horror story in history its roots. And if that weren't vain enough, the movie dared to give it its conclusion; not just the horror genre, but humanity altogether. The creators of Prometheus were adamant that their movie was not a prequel to Alien, yet they had the white-blooded android, the little squid-looking egg-layers, and they even birthed THE alien at the end of the movie. So they don't get to say that it's not a prequel to Alien. They stole Alien and decided to give it its roots. No problem. Just don't lie about it. And the same here. They outright stole the entire horror genre to cage everything up, literally, before declaring victory and standing triumphantly over the make-believe corpse. I was not impressed at all with this movie. In my humble opinion, you cannot steal from the genre so blatantly while simultaneously making light of it and then deciding to bottle every bit of it up as your own. It's not creative. It was a vessel for Thor that happened to catch on because of the "twist." The Cabin in the Woods is to horror movies what Christian science is to science.

I couldn't disagree with you more. They didn't even go into the earth gods thing much. Sorry you didn't think much of it. I think it was a nice change from the usual stuff.

Well currently I have not seen this movie. However, I would be very interested in seeing it, as I am a fan of the genre horror / thriller. I do not know yet if it is released in Italy (my country), and above all, if it were to get in my part, I do not know even in what title it would be translated. However, I can begin to document about this product, start to read the various reviews on Internet.

Yes, it certainly did. And I like a movie with some twists and not the same old thing.
