In a couple of years from now, my life begins, if it really begins at 40. I believe that one should live life to the fullest whatever age they may be. Do you really think that one should be forty before achieving anything?

No days 40 is not that old. It really depends on the motivation of the person. A person doesn't have to be any certain age to achieve things now days. People are graduating college at very young ages now and so it is really up to the person and their education and so forth.

That age is late for someone to start achieving things. Successful people start young in my opnion, well most of them. But there's always opportunity for everyone like you when you work hard and focus on your dreams.

I certainly don't think that you can't achieve anything before you are 40. Many people have, of course - Bill Gates, for example, founded Microsoft and was the overall wealthiest person in the world from 1995 (the year he was 40) until 2009. For most people, however, our achievements are more modest. Many will have more or less finished raising a family by the time they are 40 (and that, in itself, is an achievement which is often overlooked). It is, of course, at about 40 that many people can begin to think of their own personal goals again after having devoted themselves to their children and that is probably the main reason why the popular saying, "Life begins at 40" has come about.

hello there, well as the saying goes "life begins at 40". however, i guess it is just the common saying though we can really do our best even we are not yet in our forty's. so we can really achieve everything if we do our best in anything that we do.

I often hear that life begins at 40 but if it is true then why do most people I know seem not to be so happy when they reach that age? Others seem do not want to believe that they are actually 40. When I hear about this line, I always remember what my previous boss told me. She said that it is the period where most couples have already finished sending their children to school so it is also the time that they can start enjoying their earnings. This is also the time where their children will start to build their own families and so the parents will have more time for their partners. They seem to be going back to the first year of their marriage where it is only the wife and the husband alone in the house. But she also told me that it is also the period where infidelity risks are high among husbands since they have more financial freedom during this period. They can spend freely without the wife noticing it unlike when they were still sending their children to school where every cent is important. Well, I know that this is not always the case because it would always depend on how the couple value their relationships.

I don't think so. When one fully understand the meaning of life that's the time she values the meaning of it. And she begins living his life to the fullest. Being mature helps you live responsibly. That makes you achieve things and more focus to your goal and purpose in life. And that makes you an achiever.

I really hope so and I'm looking forward to that! I feel so much calmer as the years go back that I'm sure getting older is the best thing in the world. The younger we are the more anxiety, life it's huge and all seems confusing and overwhelming but the truth is it is not, thank God. I'm looking forward, I don't care about aging as well so it'll be great days.

I think that age is just a number. I've seen a lot of people in their 70's living life just as well as in their 40's. It doesn't matter what age you are as long as you're living life to the fullest. Next year I'll be 50 and there are still so many things I want to do and I keep active mentally. Keeping active and having a zest for life will keep you young at heart.
