Body piercing

As part of our tradition, girls get the ear and nose pierced; they wear ornaments in ear and nose pin in nose. Boys too used to get ears pierced; but now it is gone; girls too don’t like to get the nose pierced any more. I have seen in pictures girls wearing some kind of ring on nipples, navel and cli*ts; never saw in real; some say this is the modern trend. I have seen some guys wearing one small ring in ear; this they said was done by acupuncture expert to cure some disease. Well whatever it may be, all rituals have valid scientific reasons, the points which are pierced must have nerves those are important from ‘acupressure’ and ‘acupuncture’ point of view. I had my ears pierced when I was 3, now they are closed, as it was left as such. What is your opinion? Do you have piercing on your body, if so where and since how long? Your say and comments on this? Thanks in advance. Professor ‘Bhuwan’. . Cheers have a lucky day ahead. October 4, 2012

Personally I find such abuse of the body disgusting. God has given you a good body and you mutilate it, which is disrespectful. You claim that there is a valid scientific reason but that is just speculation unless you can provide research to confirm it, rather it is just fashion all the best urban

Yes, that I know, but much of where piercings are worn is a matter, not of such points, but of fashion all the best, urban

I respect those people who had body piercing. It's their expression of art. I also have ear piercing and I love to decorate it with different earrings.

I love the gold earrings but I don't have a lot. What I have are the fancy ones. I actually make my own earrings from beads and other materials that would look fashionable. It is itchy sometimes but I don't wear them all the time. I also sell if there are women who love to have unique earrings by my design.

I do not have any body piercing, but in young people I see some. It is a fashionable trend for them. One of my foreign colleagues has his lower chin pierced with a ring and a ring in the ear. It looks fashionable, but when he is asked whether he feels pain, he says he doesn't. I think that it needs courage when it is pierced. Have a good day, Professor.

Hello Sir, Mainly these piercing are done on fashion. I also heard that, ear piercing good to prevent some disease if done by experts. That is the reason behind for making men too pierce their ear. I really don’t like to pierce my body just in the name of fashion, my ears are pierced which done by my parents when I was a baby. (In our time girl’s ears are pierced within one year after the birth, mostly) After all it is a personal interest and those who love it , can follow it.

Hi, In Hindu families it is a tradition to pierce ears in the childhood and wear some gold ornament. I also had pierced my ears in my childhood. But now a days we can see many girls and boys having pierces their any body parts. I think it becomes the fad and they do it for the sake of fashion and no other reason.

prof, in India as well as in Hindu community we pierce the ears of the kids in their childhood days and pierce the nose of the girls after getting a certain age. I too pierced ears during my childhood days and my kids also have studs in their ears. There is nothing wrong in wearing studs during childhood days, after certain age most of the men is not interested in wearing studs, but some persons do this for trend.

I pierced only my ears. My husband did not like me piercing my nose and I did not get it done. But my mother-in-law said she will give diamond nose ring with three big diamond stones, if I get my nose pierced. What to do my husband does not like that. But suddenly one day he said I can pierce my nose, but I refused. When I was getting diamond nose ring, he objected and now he says go ahead. I said get me diamond nose ring and then I will pierce my nose. Till now that has not happened.

Hi Professor, Body piercing, except for women wearing earrings is somewhat new in our culture and I've never had it done. It is popular today especially among the young. Many girls even have their tongue pierced. I don't really care for it but it is the choice of the individual. Maybe I too would have some such thing if I were young today. Blessings.

hi professor, i have always been very sensitive to pain. when i was a baby i had my ears pierced for the purpose of earrings. Mom said i was a month old when it was done to me. the purpose why it was done when i was that old is because i still cannot stratch it or do anything to make it bleed. i never had any other piercing nor do i want to have. but yeng did things to herself, the ear piercing (even if she already has a pair). she has 6 on both her ears. and she and jan had a tattoo without asking for my blessing. even if i tell them about my mind, they have their own minds and that i cannot control. i wish thea will prefer a clean free tattoo skin. i would not mind about the ear piercing though. ann

I don't like piercings although I do have my ears pierced. I remember that it hurt for a long time afterwards and if I left off the earrings the holes closed up again. I did it because the nicest earrings were for pierced ears and the clip on earrings hurt. I think the worse piercing i have seen was on the tongue. The girl who did it said it was for fashion. She was most concerned in case her parents saw it. Having a piercing is unsafe because it can be pulled out accidentally or deliberately in a fight. I do not think it enhances a body in any way. I do not like tattoos either for the same reason.

haha, yes during fight they can be pulled; also the snatchers these days pull them mercilessly, i think the holes made in your ear were not done properly and got septic thanks for detailed response

I never had body piercing in my life, but I do respect other people to have one. It is their own choice to have it. If they over do it, I don't like the way it looks for them.

Personally, I have my ears pierced twice, and have had my tounge pierced in the past. As well as tattoo's. I have had them for a while, since childhood. My tounge I did when I was about 34. I had to let it go for work, but I have always been accepting of those things that are different. Now, if I could just find something to help me melt about 100 pounds a little easier. :) Have a good day. Bless you

I have only my ears pierced and that's just to wear earrings, but I always wanted a second one to wear two pair at one time. I never got that done. My daughter had her naval and tongue pierced at one time but she let them both close up. My son did one ear, one eyebrow and his tongue as well. But He eventually let them all grow closed too. I see many people with many piercings these days. I have no idea why. Here it is purely ornamental.

In my country, only girls will pierce their ears to wear ornaments because it looks very beautiful. However, many boys begin to pierce their bodies because they this it is fashionable and cool recent year. But it is still not very common that boys pierce their bodies and wear ornaments.
