Elsa was the first rescue dog that we adopted. We had three kittens and foxes invading the land so when we were asked to give a home to a dog that was in need we responded. She had been ill treated from a puppy and a year later she had become a dog who was used to taking care of herself. She was aggresive initially but after a few days realised that she was home and safe. For the first time in her life she ran on earth, not concrete. She has an intelligent face and she looks up at me as though she understands everything I say. She does not like her life to be disturbed by birds, dogs or anything unfamiliar. She has accepted four other dogs and they have become her pack. She is the leader and she keeps the peace between them. We are rarely troubled by foxes now and the cats and dogs have come to an understanding.

I am delighted to hear all about Elsa the first rescue dog. I am pleased that she settled in nicely and stopped being aggressive. It is lovely that she gets on well with the other animals. It is superb she tolerates Tilly trying to become top of the pack. Yes, she is proud to be the leader dog. I am glad that she doesn't go for the foxes and gets on well with the cats.

Elsa sounds wonderful, I love her already. I love all animals, I don't have dogs anymore, I have cats now. They are different to dogs but just as lovable.

Elsa sure seems like a nice dog to have! She keeps you untroubled by foxes and seems to be an understanding dog too! All that is in addition to being a guard dog too! Good on you Elsa!

She's a sweet-looking doggie. I've had several rescues over the years. My first were mainly dachshunds and I had four at one time. The last one looks somewhat like your Elsa except for the coloring. Teddy is all tan. He is a good guard dog. Let's me know when anything is in the yard that doesn't belong. And this is from inside the house. I don't let him out unless he's on a leash and with me.

What a fantastic story! Adopting Elsa was a wonderful thing you did! There are so many dogs out there waiting for adoptions and I wish more where! I wish I lived somewhere I could own any pet! I can't and maybe someday I will be able to! Nice to hear a feel good story about an animal! Hearing to many bad stories lately!

It is plain to see from this post that you and your animals have all become one family. That is such a good thing.
I hope you will all have many years together. Trust and care go a long way in life.

That is a lovely story, friend. It seems that Elsa is a born pack leader. It happens with all sorts of animals, including human beings. It`s wonderful that her talents have been guided by the love you have given her. She guards her own, but she is not agressive (and hence dangerous) to everyone. Good for you and for her!
