"Eyes are windows to the soul" as the saying goes. It is one of our vital organs.Without our eyes we will never see the beauty of God's creation. I work in front of the computer 6 to 8 hours on daily basis. Though I still have clear eyesight, I've noticed that my eyes has become very sensitive to light, especially, when the sun is shining brightly. And,most of the time, they are itchy. What I do in morning is eye yoga exercise and before hitting the bed at night,I do warm compress on both eyes to relax them. My husband also benefited from this routine according to him,his visioned has improved since he started doing eye yoga exercise. Check out this video and see for yourself http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PRwXuRIR3Co&feature=related

I too will check that video out. I also have an eye allergy. Doctors say to stop rubbing. But I simply can't stop it. Is there any other way? I can't take it anymore!

The doctor is right.scratching your eyes will result to more serious eeye damage.whenever my eyes feel itchy , I wash my eye wiyh warm water .You may also do warm compress.Get a clean bottle.Fill it with lukewarm water. You will feel the soothinh effect the warm compress without irritating your eyes.

Belle, sounds very interesting that nowadays they had yoga even for our eyes. But, i think it is only effective for those whose eyes are still fine, right. But, it is hard for those who had eye sight problem. By the way, we will need to do how many times per day, to see the improvement to our eye sight? I would like to introduce it to my friends and relatives whom are very active sitting in front of the computers.

With regard to your question on how many times one should do this to see results, I don't think it was mentioned on the video. However, this exercises helped alleviate my husband's astigmatism. My husband has been suffering from astigmatism for a long time.According to him, it improved his vision for as short as two weeks. And he is still doing this exercise every day.Perhaps, you should try it yourself to see results.

I have never heard of specifically yoga eye exercises, but I have had eye exercises in the past and I know it helps with eye strain. Glad it works for you.

i find this very helpful. i also work in front of my computer for most of my waking hours. though i know hot-compresses relaxes the body, i never thought it could also be helpful to the eyes. i used to eat a lot of squash and cucumber, thinking that they are beneficial to the eyes since they are rich in vitamin A. i will try this out sooner or later, hope i'll be reminded of it. thanks for the information.

I had just started to wear glasses months before. I think now there is no use of exercises to my eyes because I need to wear it all the time. Anyway this is a very useful health related message and I would share it with my cousins, they spent their most of their hours in front of computer as well as in front of TV but still they do not wear glasses. May be this will help them to save them from wearing glasses

There are many people who are near-sighted in China, so am I. When I was a child, we were requested to do the eye exercises to prevent from having the near-sighted. I doubted whether it could work. So I didn't take it seriously. It is my first time to hear about the Yoga eye exercise. But perhaps right now I am too old to improve my eyesight already
