3 in 1 Photo Shoot is an Omen

An old beliefs say, taking picture of three persons is a sign of bad luck, especially at the middle. In every family reunion, elders keeps on reminding us not take photos on three. A very classic superstitious beliefs, for no arguments to discuss we just follow the directions. Would you believe on that?

I've never heard about that superstition. People out of habit usually obey known superstitions, because if they don't and something bad happens, maybe people will blame them.

Most people probably don't take them seriously so there probably won't be much blaming going on.

I wonder what made people believe it brings bad luck.
I mean, I have 2 best friends and we sometimes take a picture when I'm in the middle.
What can be so wrong with that ?
Maybe it makes the one in the middle as the one with the most focus ?
I know I was the friend of one of them and later I got to know the second of them, so, it's like they are both my friends, but, they are also friends with each other.
The picture with me in the middle maybe describes I'm the connecting link of the 3 of us...
Does it make anything wrong ? Maybe one can get jealous and then starts the bad luck...

If you go out with some friends and one of you drives the car, who will sit in the front near the driver ?
My parents told me to make sure I am the one who sits near the driver since we are the best friends. When we had a tall friend, he insisted he had to sit in the front sit because he was tall and my parents told me that was an excuse...
It is also like who will sit at the start of the table...
Those are contracts made in silence that people probably think about...

REally? I've never heard of that before. I have heard that trouble comes in threes. But for the most part I am not superstitious, but I do believe their is creative power in both our thoughts and in our words, so I especially try not to believe anything which would be of a negative nature.

I do not know about that but since I only have one son our family picture is always composed of us three in the picture(My wife, my son and me). I know about that superstition but I think we overcame of that fear already.
I do not believe in that anymore.

It is also a taboo here to take pictures in threes lest one might die prematurely.

Well really? I never heard of this one before! to me there are many superstitions going around if we listen to all of them we would not be able to do any thing!

I have never heard of such a thing. So its suppose to be bad luck on the three people in the picture and worse for the one in the middle of the picture? Do I have that right? The bigger question for me is has anyone witnessed any harm to people who have taken a picture with just three people in it. I'm sure I have taken and have been in pictures with just three and nothing harmful has ever happened. This is a strange one that I have to ask around about. Though I don't believe in such superstitious things I'm curious if anyone else in my family and friends heard of this.

I never thought of it..but now that you tell me..I will review it..why yes..I have a picture of my ma and two aunts. But my ma was standing on one side. And I do have another picture in which my cousins were standing on either side. And yes, I did have plenty of bad luck in my life.

hi,
elder always say that three in one shooting of photo is really an omen or a bad luck,they said that one of them will die later on,but for me i don't believe at all with that because i have many pictures which we are three but until now we are still alive.

Hey thanks a ton for sharing this discussion. Oh my goodness i was never aware of this thing. To be very honest, i have taken many snaps of three where i am also involved and the very thought of yours makes me tremble with fear. Seriously every now and then we get to hear about many superstitions and trust me it is becoming increasingly difficult to accept which one is true and which one is fake.
What say?
