Finishing our staycation with a bang!

Two covered bridges in the same photo. - Before we visited St Martin, NB I discovered on the Internet that this was the only place in the world where you could take a picture with two covered bridges. I of course because of time restrictions decided to take my picture from the opposite direction from everyone else. I managed... without falling into the river in the process.

Today was the last day of my official vacation. We stayed home today. Yesterday was really our grand finale. We drove to a not so far away town with a friend. St Martin, New Brunswick is a UNESCO World Heritage site. It was worth the trip in spite of the fact that we were there during high tide. During low tide there are some caves you can walk to besides looking at all the wonderful things that live on the sea floor on your way there. According to the sign the difference between high and low tide would be twenty-six and a half feet. There is a place in the Bay of Fundy where the average difference is forty-seven and a half feet. We took over a hundred pictures on the drive there and on site. When my rating hits five hundred, I'm going to have even more fun on the lot than I am having right now.

I didn't realize there was that much difference between low and high tide, but I don't live anywhere near the ocean. Sounds like you had a great vacation, all told. You're so close to five hundred!

Most ocean tides are not nearly that impressive. The Bay of Fundy because of it's shape and size make for the most impressive tide change and volume in the world. I believe there is some place in Alaska where the tide his higher but the bay involved is substantially smaller.

Hey there! I'm happy to hear that you had fun with your vacation. I had my vacation two weeks ago and I spent it with my family and friends. I haven't had much sleep then because i was busy going here and there. It was my last week with my family before leaving for another country. Now I'm staying in a foreign land and still doing my online classes. I miss my family and i long to be with them in March. I'm still adjusting with my new environment. I'm trying to be strong.

Family and friends are what is best about a vacation. I don't think where you go is as important as who you are with. Haven't seen you around here as much recently. Glad to hear you're alright. Missing family isn't much fun but you'll work hard and March will come in no time.

It is wonderful you are having a nice stay cation. Those days off can be invigorating and yet you can still sleep in your own bed at night. I see you are almost where you can post pictures. I know we will see wondrous things then.

The time off work was needed. Starting today I'm going to have a very full schedule again. Between a full time job, trying to help my suns get useful employment, and my woodturning I should have no trouble keeping busy. I am still hoping for a positive response from a publisher on a book I wrote. I still have to wait a week or so for that so part of me is on pins and needles.

The town and surrounding area was quite picturesque. We enjoyed it a great deal. Our friend who grew up in the area used to visit there regularly with her parents when she was growing up. You did recently tell me your mom was from Shippegan in another post. I'm not originally from New Brunswick and neither is my wife. I came from Ontario in Niagara Falls and my wife came from the eastern townships in Quebec.
