Its been a while almost 8 years now I have a laptop. It works good still but i loved to have another laptop with best configuration. I love to buy asus as it comes with one of the best hardware available now at a cheaper cost than other in the market. Moreover i love asus motherboard a lot. It also has altec lansing speakers which makes it the best combination ever. The laptop number is X54C. It comes with 500 GB memory and a 4GB ram. Its upgradable to 8 GB too. Its simply awesome for the cost. I will start saving for this for next three months to buy it. Please share your thoughts if any. My budget is 40000rs INR.

I used to own one, really wasnt for me. I do alot of work online and the laptop wasnt good for my eyes. I prefer a desktop.

Maria...You know what...I use my laptop as my desktop almost. I use wireless keyboard and mouse as it is easy for typing, wireless router for net, Heat sink for laptop cooling and clean my laptop once in two weeks with laptop cleaning kit. No doubt i hold the laptop for 8 years. Maintenance is very important.

Thanks for posting this discussion. Glad to hear that u have been using your laptop for 8 long years and that speaks the quality of the laptop. Yes its high time to get a new laptop so that u wont have to run after the old laptop in case it breaks down in the future. U can get good laptops with the budget u have mentioned. Go for it!

Thanks for it. I have a Compaq actually. Its like a stallion. Rock solid. Its heavy and that means quality. I run a windows XP only and I am ok with it.

I have a really nice and good laptop, but I think that I will have to buy a new computer soon, and when I do buy one, I want it to be something that I really want. I will have to see what happens.

me too since my laptop has become old now and outdated specifications,so i would prefer to buy a new one with more advanced features for sure

It depends on the computer specifications,, if you buy a brand less expensive and lower specs then you suffer for what you have paid.. and most important, it's hard to find those spare parts those who are not expensive and less branded one.. some may not suitable for the brand you have.

Brand depend upon user preference , but in my case , I bought acer core i5 2.4 ghz . I think you should check acer too , it have very good hardware line , but at the end all depend about your choice . so , best of luck .

Well your system I think do need a good reboot. And its a good move that you are going for a new laptop after 8 years of contiuous use of such old laptop. By the way asus is great to buy for and I like certain products that they have in market. Besides that the configuration you mentioned I also liked that but what? 500 memory! May be I think its should have been 500 GB hard disk drive. Ok that memory too. but usually all call it hard disk not memory and people call RAM as memory, well may be just short term it may be, still people like it call memory. Lastly and finally I say Go for IT. I am not thinking of buying a new laptop now so I think I will stick with my atom PC for next 4 years and so.
