Prior to the Thatcher government I, and every other British Subject, were co-owners of various industries, gas, electricity, post office to name but a few, these being in public ownership. Thatcher and her pups sold off these industries to private shareholders and since then the quality of service has deteriorated and the cost has increased. But what I want to know is;
When will this thief and her cronies be bought to justice?

Urban, I dont know much of Thatcher though I do realize the problems that have come because of misuse of Reganomics. What Thatcher did back then, is what India is doing now. One issue that eats my brain is..is it going to help? Are we not going horribly wrong? Our government employees have not worked in the past, but happily demanded excess salaries. So our government enterprises were mostly loss making units. Part of hte problem was nobody seemed to have an authority or responsibility apparently. Once people got the job, there was no way anybody could throw them out. With private enterprises the road map may change. That is what I am trying to be positive about.

There are things that private enterprise is good at and things which it is terrible at. For instance, equivalent operation in UK costs a fraction of what it costs in US.
I hope India's leaders do not try and deliberately destroy the industrial activity of the country for political reasons as Thatcher and her Friedman economics

We actually have no choice..
The deficit levels are so bad that unless we get that money in in form of FDI, we are likely to sink ..financially. Rest of the regulations or lack of them are essential for getting FDI. Selling of Public Sector Units can no longer be delayed primarily for that reason and not the reasons you all have in your country. Those reasons are applicable to us, at a later date. For now, two square meals are more important..:( @cynthiann (18612)

I can't bear to hear her name! A few years ago I saw the show in the west end called Billy Elliot and it was all about her and what she did to the miners. I did not know the story but when I saw this production, all my anger surfaced to the fore and I rememembered so much of what she did to this country. Do you realise that we have never recovered? Do you alsio realise that old age is an illness? It is a crime to be old.
She will never be bought to justice - never. But doesn't she have alzeimer;s or dementia os something?

Yes, she is madder than mad Jack McMad, winner of last years Mr Mad competition on a particularly mad day. Crazy how all the American's worship her, suppose they didn't have her destroying their industry and anyone would look good next to a b movie cowboy actor for leader

The whole country in my view not just Scotland, a deliberate destruction of the manufacturing base of the country.
