I am lost here, maybe you could help? I am seeing headlines about "binders of women" from the presidential debate. Romney mentioned when trying to fill his cabinet in Massachusetts, they sought female candidates, then mentioned that they had binders of women. And? What is the flippin big deal? He had three ring binders of women's resumes to fill positions. The fact that Romney openly sought female candidates and Obama doesn't. So lets find some way to twist it. Please explain why this is so wrong?

Romney is a plastic figure. He is a liar and a thief. I believe he is an android programed to be a moron. He did not request binders of women to put into positions, the committee looked for women to fill positions. And it turns out that those women were hired for low level jobs. So he is a f-ing moron. Obama hires women, and lets get realistic, what ever happened to hiring the best person for the job? Thats how it should be. There should be no quotas.

If being a liar and a thief makes someone a moron, you'd have to label Obama a moron also.

This is another cheap shot from the left to try to make Mitt look bad. Is this all the left has to offer? If so Obama is bad shape. He can't talk economics and jobs. Everything Obama has done has been a failure, so they are throwing stick with this "binders of women" statement. How sad!

Fat, it is MITT trying to make MITT look bad. No "evil boggy man liberal" made Mitt say something stupid, he did that on his own. If you want to blame someone than blame the Mitt, it was his own words that got him in trouble (does anyone besides the blind followers see a pattern here?).

What are you talking about. Mitt was given a binder of resumes of women. What is wrong of sayign a binder of women candidates. NOTHING! except the left is trying to make something of it. debater, why don't bring up something of substance??? Oh, I forgot Obama cannot stand on his record so the left has to grasp for anything they can. You guys are in big trouble and this is just another one of the items that show it.

Debater - I still am wondering why it was bad? It is a legitimate statement. I don't see where this is offensive to women. On the contrary, he actively sounght and found qualified women

Because it's "headlines"! The 'free' (as in unbiased) press purposely supports one party over another, which means a powerful means of influencing people's opinions is being used and thus abused!!

well thats clear. Are you a woman? Are you offended by this remark? I can't seem to find what to be offended about. That Romney went out of his way to find women to fill his cabinet? Or that he states that there were plenty of qualified women if you look?

It is just Obama and the Democrats trying to make something out of what was really nothing. What it really shows is that Romney went looking for qualified women for his state government by seeking the advice of women's groups. You will notice that Obama hasn't offered a clue as to how he chose the few women he has chosen. Which as far as can be told, the ones he did choose were all based on politics and not qualifications. Hillary Clinton certainly didn't have good qualifications to be Secretary of State which she has shown recently in an unfortunate fashion when she refused to give more security support to the embassy in Libya when they asked for it and as a result four Americans were killed.

Good points! He does like to divert attention when he doesn't have anything real to say. Which considering that he had no teleprompter, he had to keep the subject changing

Correct me if I am wrong but didn't he say they went to a women's group looking for qualified females to hire and that the women's group brought him binders with the resumees in them. This is a non issue. Can we get back to the real issues? Like how to fix the economy and get government spending under control. Oh I forgot. Neither candidate has a good detailed plan on how to do that, that will actually work.

"Three ring binders filled with women?" No use twisting it, its already twisted enough! This Canadian wonders why Americans aren't laughing this guy right off the podium? I didn't watch the debate because I'd just had a good dinner and didn't want to lose it

Barehugs, I too wonder what is wrong with the statement. That was the original question.

barehugs Three binders filled with resumes of women, that a women's organization put together and gave to him. So what is your problem with this? What did Mitt say wrong. Talk about laughing someone out of office, how about Ole Joe Biden? Now that is a clown.

First off, they way Romney said this just sounded wrong. Who has binders full of women laying around, unless your name is Heidi Fleiss? Second, he is trying to over compensate for his issues with women, and trying to hard. We all know that Wall Street is 95% men (the 5% is secretaries), and it isn't hard to see that at Bain they NEVER had a female partner. The fact that he had to try to find females for his cabinet shows that he didn't have to many close business relationships with females. Which in this business isn't that uncommon, but doesn't make it right. Third, he totally ignored the actual question which had NOTHING to do with his answer. He couldn't answer the question because his party DOESN'T support equal pay for women, and showed that in votes on the subject.

First, he deliberately asked about qualified women to fill a position. I don't know why that's such a bad thing. He just left off the word resume, big deal. Second, he might not know that many qualified women. So yes, seeking outside help is a good thing when you can't find what you are looking for is another good thing. Third, equal pay is already on the books. All the Ledbetter legislation did was to extend the lawsuit deadlines. Of course, you continue to ignore the fact that President HIMSELF is not supporting equal pay for women.

Sierras, the question he was ask had NOTHING to do with your personal hiring practices, and even if he "went out of his way" to hire women did he pay them the same? That was the question. Republicans fought the Ledbetter legislation tooth and nail, and if they control the government that will be toast. Extending the deadline is a big deal because it is almost impossible to get compensation information from private companies. "you continue to ignore the fact that President HIMSELF is not supporting equal pay for women. " I don't know what you are talking, where is your link?

Sounds like he answered the question to me. He asked a women's organization for name so women, he got a 3 binder so resumes, and he several women in high positions. What is wrong with stupid liberals on this answer. Sound like the liberal have a problem with this. If they have this kind of problem, maybe the left should go after Ole Joe B. sometime.

My guess is that it's that a political candidate said it far more than it's something insulting. According to all the b1tching, griping and moaning I've heard from the Romney's-a-woman-hater crowd, Mitt needed something like going the extra mile to hire women specifically to get in their good graces. According to the women out there who insist that the country is exceedingly unfair to them, this is something they should adore. A successful businessperson/politician looking to specifically hire qualified women! Wow! That's a feminist's/oppressed woman's dream. Right? Of course, I find it to be bigoted against men. I don't like the idea of singling women out, anymore than I like the idea of singling people out based on race, etc. But for the left, which is undoubtedly more inclined to separate people based on these factors to ensure a forced sense of equality, binders full of women is everyday operating procedure. I don't like the idea, but I like that it's Mitt dropping the binders line. If someone thinks that there's not a filing system based on race and gender and other factors out there, wake up. We all know that "experience" doesn't get you anything in America. The content of one's character is the last thing that's look at. Check the Native American box for a leg up. It's owed to your people! Get aboard the women-aren't-equal-yet train and benefit. Check black or Latino for extra points. C'mon, man. It is what it is. I'm sure Obama has binders too. Who checked the "attended Mao's last tribute party" box? You're in there like swimwear!
