Here in Kerala fruits especially strawberries costs much and more over the availability of strawberries is very less. So I can't prepare them. Other wise I will just try to make them if you tell me the steps to bake it.

Just eat them raw and fresh after you wash them well. Those fruits are being sprayed with a lot of pesticides because of vulnerability. You can eat them as a salad with kiwi and other fruits of the season. I think eating raw food is healthier in most cases.

We won't have strawberries here for six or seven months. Not sure what the 'ber' months are. They don't have yellow seeds though. Have you ever had a pomegranet? They are such a beautiful red color.

Apples and such may be harvested in September and maybe October. Not much else that I know of. I guess I don't see the dots on the strawberries as being yellow. Never thought of it before.

It is so nice to learn a new thing about the "ber" months. A pomegranate is one of the most popular fruits in my country, Israel. It grows on trees there and I like picking up and eat it. Last year I even made juice from its seeds with a juice maker. Strawberries are surrounded with tiny yellow dots and I'm pretty sure those are the seeds she is talking about. Now, when I read in the Wikipedia, those dots contain the seeds.

I love strawberries and it is good that you can grow them. We start to get them here in June locally and they continue until the end of October, but we also get them from the nearby United States where it is a bit warmer and the season is longer. AFter that it is from California and in the winter months from Chile. I love them fresh. I have a couple of strawberry plants and hope to have more next year.

They are more of a dessert fruit. We cut them up and place them in a small bowl with sugar. Also we can make strawberry ice cream, strawberry jam, strawberry shortcake - although there are two kinds, one with biscuits and strawberries on top and the other with sponge cake and the strawberries on top. Both have whipped cream on top as wry Ll.

When it comes to the 'ber' months the Philippines suddenly become busy. And I was advised to refrain from visiting philippines when the Calender months ends in 'ber'. I was there last November and the sea of people in every shopping malls was quite shocking for visitors who have never seen such a huge crowd. Now we're also having fruit season here. Strawberries are not grown on a large scale here and only found in the cold highlands of this country. Most of the strawberries sold in supermarkets here are imported.

I think it is inevitable to have a lot of people on such occasion. But in my hometown, it is not that crowded. Hope you can see some of our strawberries here. Thanks for sharing

Strawberries in the "ber" months. I don't think I've ever thought about it that way. I live in California so there are always fruits available and just about any kind of vegetable that you can think and probably some you may have never heard of. I like to freeze strawberries and then add some yogurt and make an awesome smoothie.

In my country, we just only have two seasons. But I am fortunate to live in the mountain side of Philippines. But then, these berries are only abundant in ber months, that is the coldest weather in my hometown.

From the time that I was a very young girl, I have always been a huge fan of strawberries. When I was just two years old, my parent's neighbors had a row of strawberry plants in their backyard and it was a regular occurence for myself and their grand daughter to be found in that row of their garden picking all of the strawberries off of the vine and eating them right then and there. Now that I have children of my own, it is one of the things that they look forward to is going to a strawberry patch and picking our own sweet berries.

Strawberries,I love those red ripe berries whether in season or out of season. They have become so costly in India, nowadays we buy them to sprinkle in our ice creams.Once we used to buy them to make strawberry shakes and custards, now they are too expensive for us to buy in large quantities. You are lucky that straw berries are your local fruit like our guava and papaya.
