As we know, there are a lot of people who are struggling to stay healthy at the moment. One of the things that I think is bad about health is the fact that more people than ever are choosing to sit at their laptop for hours each day which is meaning that they're not able to get as much done as they might have been able to in the past. One of the things that I think that people should do is to make sure that for every hour you spend on your computer, you spend at least ten minutes exercising or at least relaxing away from it. What types of things would you say that people should do in order to stay healthy? These could be tips to do with: -Diet -Exercise -Physical Health -Mental Health ..Or anything else that you think could help other people!

I think moderate sports, regular diet and sleeping, good mental state all these factors lead to healthy life. In some ways, health is just some good habits, and it actually is.

This is the best thing to do, but a lot of people get into the state where they're eating rubbish food and not doing any exercise at all. If we all tried our best to make our lifestyle healthy, then none of us would ever be in the position where we end up being overweight. Getting into good habits is fantastic, and I am glad to say that I have been able to do this now. It took a lot of time to get into these habits, but I can honestly say that after two years I do feel as though I can finally live the way that I need to in order to be healthy.

Very perfect of you to have leaded a perfect healthy life style, I think the changes to make is not easy. What bad habits I want to get rid of are smoking and staying up late, and I really can't get out of these habits in a short time.

Thanks a ton for posting this discussion. Yes u are very much correct, we need not to take giant steps to stay healthy and fit. In fact small steps taken in a regular fashion can bring about a huge change in our health. As u said we need to maintain a balanced life with balanced food and lots of exercises. These tips are very much handy and it hardly costs much to us. What say?

I have managed to find that kind of balance between my diet and exercise which means that I am able to stay at a weight which is healthy for my height. It has been something that I have struggled with for the whole of my life, but for some reason I managed to get my head around it early in 2011 so that now I am slimmer than I have ever been and I know that I am going to be able to keep this way because I am happy in my own body and that is something that I have never been able to say before the last couple of months.

Do you know that if we dont get enough sunlight we wont have a fabulous temper? If we confine ourselves in a room with a computer our health must be affected. We must take exercise. Because exercise makes all glands in the body work and help our muscles and bones build. The chemical elements which the glands releases help our entire body function properly. If we dont exercise we may lose our disest power, memory power and potency even. In fine I would say '' To ignore exercise is to lose all''.

It is very important that people remember to have some physical activity in their daily routine. This can be something as simple as standing up and walking in place while watching television to planning on (and actually going to) the gym and working out several days every week. If we are not at all active in our lives, then we will find that we gain weight, have increased heart problems and other ailments happening in our lives as well.

Yes physical activity is definitely something that is very important for people. There are so many who have jobs now that just require sitting doing nothing for the whole of the day, but this isn't good for them as it means that they're not getting anywhere near enough exercise as they would need. Even doing something as little as getting up and changing the channel on the television instead of using the remote control can make at least a little bit of difference as you would be walking across the room a couple of times.

I think that word that is most important in your post is "regular". A lot of people see a diet as a short term thing to be able to help them to lose weight, but I think that it is much more important for them to be able to get into the habit of eating well and making sure that it is something that they're doing through their whole life rather than just once every so often. This is why there are a lot of people who gain weight when they stop dieting, because they assume that they can go back to the way that they were before without gaining any weight.

It is bad that this happened to you, but in a way it is good because it made you realise just how much damage you were doing to yourself by just sitting in the same place for the whole of the day. At least now that you know that it isn't good for you, you are going to be able to make sure that you get enough exercise on a daily basis. I always try to make sure that for every hour that I spend on the computer, I then spend ten minutes exercising; whether that is going out for a quick walk or going on my exercise bike for a little while.

Thanks for sharing this...Without a good health we can't do anything that earns us or entertains us.For atleast few hours one should stay away from computers and do some physical exercises and also meditation to keep mental health under good condition.Good luck

I agree with staying away from the computer, because this is something that far too many people are spending too much time on at the moment. If you are at the computer then this means that you're not able to exercise and therefore you are not burning the calories that you're eating and you may end up being fat. I think that meditation is a great thing to do because it means that you can relax a little bit when you might be feeling as though things are getting a little bit tough, and I am sure that it would help you to feel a lot better about things.

Several years ago I read something that impressed me. With the advent of the microwave we spend three minutes waiting for this, and a minute waiting for that, etc. Instead of just waiting while that process is going on, do something. It could be a small chore like straightening a drawer, or putting dishes away, or prepping veggies for the evening meal. It could also be exercise. It is amazing what can be done in those little snatches of time.

It is a very good point about making the most of those minutes, and this is something that I have started to do in the morning when I am making my breakfast. I know that my oats take two minutes to warm up, so I will put the kettle on first and the put the oats and milk in a bowl, and by the time they are cooking the kettle has boiled and I can make my cup of tea and go and put it in the lounge. Then it is time for them to come out of the microwave and I haven't wasted any time at all waiting around for the microwave to finish cooking.

A pleasant day GemmaR, What you have wrote there was really true. In this regard, people should really be aware that health must come first. Hence, if we are feeling healthy, we can be sure of that we can do things lightly. So to add up on your post, perhaps, it will be best to consider eating foods which can help us to burn down the fats.
@GemmaR (8517)

I am not sure what you mean when you say that you should eat foods which help to burn fat, because I am not sure that these exist. The only thing that you need to do is to make sure that you're burning more than you're eating and then you will be able to get rid of the fact that is in your body. Health doesn't come first for everyone, because there are so many people who spend their time thinking about how they can make money or be popular, and sometimes it can be a horrible wake up call when people realise that they have been putting their health second for so long.

I always get this advise from all the doctors that I meet: make sure to drink lots of water daily. Hydrate yourself, it is good for the skin and body as it helps flush away toxins and other wastes.

When I first started losing weight, water was something that I knew I was going to have to drink a lot more of because I thought that it might take my mind away from the fact that I would usually be eating snacks at this time. I noticed the difference within a matter of days when I started to drink more, and it makes my skin look a lot clearer and brighter. I also think that it makes my hair shine a lot more which is a good thing, and water is very cheap as well so this much better than the other sugary drinks that I might have had before.

hi, health is wealth. this phrase is really one to consider since now a days there are lots of things that can be stressful to us. The best advice some says that "you are what you eat". this is particularly true since if we mean to eat healthy then we are healthy.

Exercise is the most important to me. I always feel more healthy after excercising. Even if its just walking.

I always feel better when I have exercised a little bit as well, and I went for a walk this morning. I think that life can be so busy these days that we just don't bother to stop and take the time to exercise for our own health. When I was a little younger, I would always go on a walk on a Sunday morning, and this was something that I have started again today. I am glad that I did so, because those 45 minutes will make all the difference when I am considering the amount of exercise that I have managed to do that week.

You are absolutely correct. Our inactive life is affecting our physical and mental health. My chiropractor told me to walk 10-15 minutes for every 2 hours in the computer. I try to walk here and there, just to loosen up my muscle. My back hurts if I sit too long. Same thing with my calf muscle, it get tight. Walking and stretching are good to have once a while. To stay healthy, I try to exercise at least 3 times a week. Eat healthier by avoiding junk food, fat, and sugary drink. Eat more lean meat, fish, fruits and vegetables. Try to drink 2L of water everyday. Tea is also good especially green tea. I also consume supplements, such as fish oil, vit D, E, Calcium and Magnesium.

Far too many people are inactive, you're definitely right about that one. If you sit in front of the computer then you're hardly burning any calories at all, so those 10 minutes that were recommended to you really can make all the difference. I don't have to eat supplements because I try to make it so that I can get everything that I need from my diet; but I suppose that if you don't have the time to get all of the food groups into your diet then some kind of tablet would work well for you as it would be a lot easier.

I stay healthy by running and dance. Personally, I think the best way to stay healthy is to be active throughout the entire day! I mean, if you can take the stairs instead of the elevator, than do that! I think all these little things add up. Also, I make sure for my mental healthy to get at least 6 hours of sleep at night! I used to struggle with my sleep and it would affect my mood during the day,. I would be super grumpy and I think it even made me eat more!
@GemmaR (8517)

It is great to make small steps towards being active all day, and I think that taking the stairs is always a good place to start. I managed to get a lot healthier when I was living in a third floor flat just by cutting out the lift, because I was finding that it was such good exercise to take the stairs. I also think that people underestimate how important sleep can be on their daily health, because if you're too tired to be able to get things done during the course of the day then you're never going to be able to reach your own peak.

I have try these things to stay healthy and it has affect for me..four of the following is the best way to maintain body condition and a major factor in a healthy lifestyle, Breakfast is one of the most positive thing to do if you're trying to lose weight. A balanced breakfast includes fresh fruit or fruit juice, high-fiber breakfast cereal, low fat milk or yogurt, whole wheat toast and a boiled egg can help you through the dense morning activity. Many people do not know how to brush your teeth properly. Brushing your teeth are less well able to do as much damage to the teeth and gums, especially if you do not brush at all. Hold your toothbrush the same way as holding a pencil, and brush for at least two minutes. You do not need a fancy toothbrush, just a solid, fluffy, and you replace it every month. We need at least 90 mg of vitamin C per day and the best way to get this by eating at least five servings of fruits and vegetables every day. Oranges and guava into fruits rich in vitamin C. Drinking water, even when you are exercising. Soft drinks or energy drinks during exercise was not recommended because it has a fairly high glucose. So when you exercise, you burn fat, but then refill it with calories from beverages.
