I just got back from Disneyland in California and I have to say I am completely disapointed. In 3 days we got stuck on 5 rides. they kept breaking down and nothing was done to accommodate the time lost spent stuck on rides waiting for them to be fixed to get off.
Has this ever happened to you? Did disney do anything for you?
It is not the Disney hospitality i am used to.
Will never be returning there again.

I have been to Disneyland Hongkong only; and more than the rides, I liked and preferred the shows. I guess I am already too old for that sort of thing but still Disneyland is Disneyland.
Your experience is indeed a bummer, but it didn't happen to us on our trip there. It would have been a bit better if they did something to make up for the time spent waiting for the rides to be fixed, or even hand out some extra pass lol!

I hope I could also visit Disneyland Hongkong . My children are asking me when we could visit the place but until now I am not sure if it would be possible. Maybe on the years to come.

Hi poppoppop111, so sorry to hear that. But seriously, does that really happens? I thought Disneyland in California is the largest in the world, hence it should have accommodate the best facilities ever. It is such a disappointment to hear that the rides keep breaking down and time wasted for the trip. I am not staying anywhere near California, and if i were to plan an overseas trip to Disneyland, California...will i regret? Sigh...i have dream many times and wished to go there...but now, i need to reconsider. However, there is another place called DisneyWorld right? It is located in Florida, and it is also the largest in the world. Maybe you would like to consider this place. =)

Actually it is not the biggest. Disney world in Florida is the biggest and the best. You can spend a week there and not see it all. I have been there 6 times and have never been disappointed. I would recommend that one for sure.

Thank you very much, poppoppop111! Yes, would definitely try Disney world in Florida someday with my family.
I have heard about it too, and many did recommend the place for tour. However, i do wish to pay a visit to Disneyland in California too if possible.
I did some research, many says Disneyland and Disney world is different. Hopefully we can get to enjoy these 2 places.

Thanks for posting, as was planning to vacation there soon. I will start looking elsewhere, as the high cost of Disneyland should mean a great time for all. Its not fun to sit on a broken ride waiting for it to be fixed. It would be understandable if it was one ride, but 5 rides would be terrible.

I have never had a bad experience with Disney world in Florida. Have always been amazed with that park. I would recommend going there but never to Disney land in California. Was not what I expected after visiting Disney world 5 times.

Hi pop! It's good that you shared this discussion in here so that other who might be planning to visit the place will be warned about these things. Maybe you could call the attention of the management to consider this matter.
I also would love to go to Disneyland but maybe on the place near our country, Hongkong. This is a dream of my children which until now we could not yet realize. Maybe in the years to come.
Have a nice day!

I sent an email off to Disney upon my return. I have yet to receive a response. I also completed a survey at the park with one of their representatives and nothing was done or said about my complaints. They are a huge company and probably not too concerned about losing one customer

That's disappointing. The one time that I went to Disney was when I was a preteen, so quite a while ago - we didn't have any problems like this.
I think we will rethink our plans to go there, too. It's a lot of money and I want my day to go reasonably smoothly. I went to Hawaii around the time you went to Disneyland and it was a great trip, very relaxing and the kids loved the beaches.

I visited Disneyland in California with my sister when I was 20 years old. She was 25 years old. We had been staying at the youth hostel in Santa Monica and we went to Disneyland for one day. We found the rides very enjoyable indeed. Both of us thought the day was really exciting. None of the rides broke down. Disneyland was like a dream come true. We also found Universal Studios really interesting as well. It was such a shame Disneyland, California was disappointing for you.

My son and I just went to the Disneyland in Hong Kong but we all felt disappointed to it, too. First, the Disneyland in Hong Kong is small and it is also crowded. We went there in summer and it was quite tired to wait for the lines. Besides, Disneyland seems to be a place for girls. My son is not very interested in there because he doesn't like the characters very much.

I have never gone to Disneyland, but I have gone to Disneyworld several times and it is much to my liking. I understand that Disneyland is a lot older than the other Disney parks. Maybe that was the reason why Disneyland had so many problems.

I have been in the same situation. Stuck in a boat ride or in a ferris wheel. But not in disney. Commercials are so promising about disney, i hope that is a remote case of "not so good" event. I may visit disney though, for it is my childhood dream to visit such. I hope it wont be tough though. Thanks1 person likes this

I wish I have the money to visit Disneyland in Hongkong with my family.
The kids will surely love it. Hope this will not happen in Disneyland, Hongkong if ever it materialize cause if will surely ruin the fun... imagine 5 rides breaking down and waiting for them for a fix, ouch!
