Katie Couric is even dumber than I thought

A day or so after the guy jumped from the edge of space setting several records and become the first human to break the sound barrier, Katie Couric had a scientist associated with the record breaking feat on her show. Now I don't watch her show but I do occasionally catch part of it when I am waiting for the tape to rewind after watching a recorded program. When I saw who she was interviewing, I watched that small last part of her show. This scientist also worked for NASA and his astronaut wife was one of the astronauts killed when that shuttle broke apart on reentry. So her really stupid last question was, "what's next, jumping from Mars" not on Mars or something stupid but not quite so bad but jumping from Mars. Somehow the scientist barely managed to not openly laugh at her. She is supposed to be this former great news person, not in my opinion, and they advertise her show by calling her "most trusted" and she asks such a stupid question.

I would have assumed she was kidding.

If she was kidding, it certainly wasn't apparent.

I know what you mean. I never did like her. She is not the least bit interesting. I find her stories boring and her interviews lacking any real guts. She must have known someone of importance to have gotten her first job and I think luck is all she has going for her.

No, he probably didn't want to embarrass or he just couldn't believe that someone with her supposed reputation would say something so stupid.
