Man Will Exchange God and The Gods With Government

Mankind will replace God and The Gods with government. Don't you think? The mistake we'll make is the giving over of too much power. It'll be the gods all over again (when this happens) but this time they'll have arms and legs, the resources and computers. And all the while, we'll mean well. Do you think this will work out to be a good thing?

Even now some are trying to replace God with government. Government has proven its incapability at handling anything we use to depend on from God. I agree that we are giving up too much power by turning anything that use to be the responsibility of the state or the people to the federal government. Look at the mess they've made with the public schools. Almost everything the government touches spoils. I don't see how it can be a good thing to exchange God for government.

bestboy19: Very well stated! I think Christians are giving up too much power to government and society. We do this when we refuse to stand up for what we believe and stand against the things we know that are not in accordance with what God has commanded us to either do or not do. I agree. It is not a good thing for us to allow goverment to have more control over us than we do God. God's law should alwys com first.

I don't think we will have the chance for that. It seems society as we know( or knew it)is going down the tube pretty fast. I wouldn't be surprised if there was a overthrow at some point. Daffy Duck could run the country better and look better in his suits. I am not impressed!

celticeagle: The fact that society has sat idly by while the government has taken control of some things should serve as proof that there is a chance for man to give power that belongs to God over to government. Our society has taken God out of schools, government, and even some churches. Look at the mess that has resulted from that.

All of you are completely correct ! The anti-God people (that have a lot of money, have already taken control of the government! Greedy people do not believe in God, and they don't care about people that do believe in God! And with all their money, they control everything, the country, the government, the rest of the people, and the world!

Thanks a ton for posting this discussion. Well yes u are completely right, this is the situation that will happen very soon with all of us. I think no one on earth can ever replace God and no matter how much powerful and strong humans may be, God is the supreme and is above all. He should be revered and respect at large and we should never even think of replacing his position. What say?

I know, right? When the apostles were "taken out of the way" then things of that age changed..

At least the government isn't seen to be infallible. If my country ever became a theocracy, I'd be the first to go...even if I have to start a colony on the moon!

habibti320: I disagree. Too many people are depending on the government to cure all the ills of this world. As long as man is in charge of things, things will only get worse. Government will gain more and more control over the lives of its citizenry. I think if we desire to continue to enjoy those God-given rights that our founding fathers believed in, we need to have a government in which leaders are God-fearing people who obey the Word of God.

habibti320: That is your right and I respect it. However, in this country it has already been proven that when you take God out of the government, people suffer losses. It has also been proven that the more power you give to others, the more they will take from you. Your unwillingness to list even a few of your reasons lessens your argument. It may lead others to believe that you lack any valid reasons. This is a discussion and you cease to contribute when you refuse to discuss the reasoning behind your statements.

And I disagree, for too many reasons to list.
