Do you think this is true, and if it is what can we do to improve the world by using our pens, or in these days, our computers.
Winston Churchill is on record as saying 'jaw jaw is better than war war' so presumably he thought the tongue was mightier than the sword. What do you think is the strongest weapon - the sword, the pen or the tongue? which have influenced you the most?

I think the day of battles by sword are long gone. And in those days a person's or familie's reputation was all they had. Not losing that was paramount. Now days that has totatlly changed. A big war is evident if people don't agree now days. Not the same as swords at all.

Hi,
You are right. The pen is mightier than the sword. In our country India many people wrote articles against British rule while fighting for independence. Tilak, Gokhale, Agarkar are some names who wrote articles without fear of imprisoned by the British officers. People were inspired by their article and they also came ahead against British rule over India. At that time pens of those people worked as the sharp sword.
But I think that tongue is sharper than the pen. Because the words spoken by tongue are more effective than the written words.

Definitely the tongue, that is the strongest weapon for me because I can relate to it through the bullying at school, the name calling and the abuse and then the controlling manipulative relationships I was in. Mental abuse is so hard to prove, you have the scars but on the inside, physical abuse or the sword in this case wounds but the scar heals in time, mental scars hardly ever heal and even after 5 years I still have the mental scars of what my ex partner did to me, their tongue was sharp, severe and took no hostages. The pen is just words on paper, I think myself as a good wordsmith and I can use words and twist words on paper for sure, I have physical strength, but when it comes to the tongue well that cuts deeper, harder than the sword.

In some sense the pen is mightier than the sword and it also depend on what you want to achieve . They will work differently in different situation . I am more afraid of the sword than the tongue lol

Whether the pen is mightier than the sword or not depends on what you are doing .If it is a just cause for most people sake,no matter whether the pen or the sword ,it is mighty and invincible.
