It's pretty simple for me. I say "No" the first time. If they insist, I say "Yes" then still act as if I say "No". Some people think they can persuade you by nagging. I'm used to it since I've had 3 girlfriends who like to nag about the smallest things. During those days, I found a workaround. If I agree to disagree, and act like I don't agree, it neutralizes the whole situation.

I think that saying no is something that a lot of people would struggle with, and because of this it can mean that we end up being far too busy to be able to enjoy our own lives. When I was younger, I was not able to say no to anybody, and I ended up doing far too much for other people rather than taking the time to look after myself. I have now learned what I am capable of, and if things impact on my ability to enjoy my own life then I will say to people that I am unable to help them on this occasion, but hopefully in the future I would be able to help them again.

I do not know how many times I actually do so. I have not counted actually. Also there are not so many offers made to me to which I can refuse or accept. But here in this discussion to add my bit, I would say that we are at times in a situation where it is better for us to say NO. We should learn to say NO as we cannot accept everything and everyone. We should develop to cleverly decline or say no to something. I am in my college. And here I get to see a lot of things happening and people coming to me asking to take part. I found that indulging myself in everything would hamper my other works.
