Do you limit yourself to only one craft or art type?

Today was a busy day, and I was feeling it physically. Tomorrow I teach my first class in crafting. It is a beading class! I am proud to be asked, and thrilled and I was scared out of my wits until I did some serious thinking. Then I started to feel much better.
On the drive home, I took a back road route that took me through areas of the countryside that were vivid with fall colors. I wished I had a 35mm camera with me so I could do some photo work on the way home. That's when it hit me that I have never been able to limit the number of crafts or arts that I do. I make teddy bears and have for nearly 30 years. I also have been beading for the past 3 years. I also used to be an avid photographer. I also knit, sew, and crochet too. I had decided a couple of years ago to "limit" myself to one or two crafts. I got rid of a lot of crafting supplies, cameras, yarn, fabrics and more. I realized on the drive home today that it is futile to limit myself as it breeds frustration and longing in my heart for the crafts that I had given up. They are going to be welcomed back into my home again! Starting with another 35mm camera. There is an abandoned farmhouse that I want to get pictures of, it is over grown and boarded up-but it has so much personality and would be perfect on my wall.
Do you do more than one craft? What are they? Have you considered down sizing your crafts to one or two?

U are mighty smart to be teaching & doing crafts. I don't do any crafts at all. I just never got into crafts.

I do not have several crafts on the go at the same time, I am more of a serial crafter. I used to knit with a knitting machine, that was rather physical, but the speed spoiled me for knitting with needles. I still enjoy making earrings and nceklaces but mostly just for myself now. Card making is something that I pick up from time to time, although initially I did it with great enthusiasm. I seem to go through phases of enthusiasm for one craft at a time.
Just now I am thinking about making cards for Christmas and knitting myself a pair of stocks. Maybe I will manage both, but I doubt it.

The only reason I would consider downsizing would be so I could focus on something a little more, but it is not happening. I dabble in way too many things and I have lots of "UFO"'s (unfinished objects). On the other hand I am never bored. It has been quite a while since I touched a sewing machine. This week I completed two bags from upcycled materials. . . after all one can never own too many bags. I crochet, some. I can sew, I have made doll clothes and personal garments and home decor, and now I am going to learn quilting, although I actually started a cathedral window quilt about twenty five years ago all hand sewn. I really like to do it all. I know that the attraction for me is the opportunity to play with color in many different ways.

No, before I retired I collected a lot of stuff because I expected to try my hand at various different crafts after I retired.
I did the scrapbook for my mother on her 80th birthday. I want to learn to quilt. I did some crochet but my hand started acting up.
I'd say, pass on the 35mm camera and go straight for digital...

Hiya LB.,
Now that is really great for you to be able to do that give Classes as you will be teaching something you really like doing and not like me where I am being pestered to give English Classes a lot of the times and I feel no call for this at all because you have to want to give those Classes for them to sit up and listen to you.
Although I have taught English in the past I have never once pretended for it to be the very basic English and to young Children and for a time it was fun.
Problems began when they started changing the times of the Classes around and they wanted you to give the Classes at any hour that suited them.
Now anyone knows that their own time is precious and so I found I was working double the amount of time just to teach something that should have not taken up all that time.
I still take photos when I feel inspired. Where I am at the moment there is not that much to be inspired about but I have found a few inspirations to take photos of things that normally would not have caught my attention.
Alas I cannot make handbags or bags of any kind sewing is not my strongest thing.
Writing is my passion and taking photos and that is about it really but I really like what I do.
I write as I feel and take the photos as I want so that is something for me it means a lot.
How did the Classes go then? Bet you did really well.xxx
