Oops wrong person

I had e-mailed someone about making different arrangements for this weekend due to the multiple Halloween celebrations in the area. However, I saw this person today as we normally do and had asked if she had gotten my e-mail and she said she had not. Well while I'm waiting for them to finish I checked my sent box and I sent it to someone else who had the same first name and same last initial. Oooops! Makes me wish I would of called to confirm... but in a way no big deal because my kids go Trick or Treating 2-3x usually so if they don't get to go to the whole thing by their grandparents it's no big deal to me. Plus a few lbs less of sugary temptation. Anyone else ever send an e-mail to the wrong person?

Not an email but I have once or twice sent a text to the wrong person. I'd be texting two or three different people at around the same time and go to reply but hit the wrong person and not notice it. I've gotten an email address wrong by one or two letters though.

No, what I am more likely to do is to think I sent it when I have actually saved it as a draft. E mail is so instant though that it does leave us open to mistakes. My brother sent one once and then realized that since it was on his work e mail it might offend a certain person. He is a professional, but he still did end up with his keyboard in his mouth so to speak.

No, not me. My contact list is very small, just family and a couple of close friends who don't share the same name. I always check the names I send, though, because I've heard of people doing this! I'm glad it was nothing important.

I have done this before I had emailed one of my friends and was wondering for days why they weren't emailing me back and then figured I'd look in my box and noticed I sent it to the wrong person. Other times I go to email someone because it was something important because I didn't have their number and it turned out their email was no longer available, that gets annoying too. I'm glad you were able to see you're friend though so she was aware of your email and I hope you can figure out plans for your kids so they can go trick or treating. We are getting that storm Sandy so I don't think there will be much trick or treating going on this week not many people our going to want to go out in the rain and wind. But hopefully it'll go away before Halloween night.

That happened to me several times already. The recent one is when I forwarded this e-mail to a friend rather than to my insurance carrier. Good thing she managed to return the e-mail informing me the wrong sent. That's why I'm doing my best now, before sending it to anyone, I would check the "to", "cc" or the "bcc" first before sending it, for sometimes there are times that the "recall" options will fail. Just to be sure there. Thanks

That's not a quarter as bad as something I did some years ago when I was in highschool. I was trying to send a dirty joke to my sister, and instead of wound up in the in-box of my theology teacher. Fortunately for me, he had a sense of humour, and understands that this stuff happens with e-mail.

I have never sent an email to the wrong person, but I have sent a text to the wrong person a few different times. I have caught myself at the last second before in sending a wrong text. It was a good thing too. I don't think my boss would have appreciated the "Love you too!" text he almost got...LOL

hi 3SnuggleBunnies in a way JI did as I kept getting emails with a spoofed address and full of add ons I knew were probably full of virus. So I emailed the sender who I had bot iknown and asked her if s he knew she had a virus on her computer that was sending out emails using her address book to people with an add on that if opened probably contained more virus. She got mad and told me she had no virus on her computer then about fifteen minutes later she emailed me again and apologized as her virus program finally picked up the virus and contained it.Soi we actually became friends and emailed each other often

Yeah I have done this before and it sucks because you're sitting here waiting and wondering when the person is going to reply back to you and then you go look and be like hey wrong person. Or times I try emailing someone on my list and it says their email is no longer available. Good thing you saw the person you emailed so she was aware and hope you can figure out the plans for you're kids trick or treating. It's going to be cold and rainy here Halloween night so I don't know how many people will go to the parade or trick or treating. Were getting that storm called Sandy this week.

I don't remember sending someone mail by mistake, i.e. to a wrong person. But about a week back I received a mail from someone by mistake. I replied him immediately, telling that I am not the person whom he is actually supposed to mail. In the mail he addressed himself as my maternal uncle. That's how I understood that the mail is not for me. Afterwards the same day evening he replied me, he apologized for sending a mail by mistake. He wrote he missed a character in the email id, due to which the mail reached my Inbox.
