What do you do when you are upset?

Hi Mylotters! It's been a bad day for me. And I was thinking what to post. Apologies for posting negatives here. Anyways, because of being upset, I got this. I wanted to cut my hair to make me feel better or anew because of new look and rejuvenating feeling. But when my hair is too short for a hair cut, I usually eat a lot or cry until i sleep. I lock my bedroom door and on the laptop and just cry. I'm horrible right? But I can't find anything that would ease my feelings. Especially when I disappoint someone and keep on doing wrong things unintentionally. What about you? What do you do?

I just want to be alone sometimes. Just think, okay cry too. I eat also but most of the time I let my boyfriend pamper me. But if he is the reason why am I upset, I just pamper myself at the spa. :D

There is no perfect world, we feel upset when we expect too much from people. In every person, we have standard expectations in life. If that person will not meet such, we feel so upset about it. Although, it should not be like this. As I have said, there is no way for us to control someone to act the way we wanted to.

I shut down and sleep, I could sleep for days if things are really getting to me. Usually I hold it all inside, and something little happens and I fall apart. Crying is ok, but don't dwell on things. Life is to precious to let go by being upset over little things.

I listen to music, it seems to help a lot! I start with angry, loud heavy metal and then move to other music until I work my way up to something fast and upbeat. Music really is great therapy!

why do you say you are horrible? we all have our own ways of venting. crying is but one of many ways to do so. there are times when i feel really horrible. these times, i usually go for a really good meal. i love food and a good meal never fails to make me happy again. i stop short at doing something less reversible like cutting my hair. imagine i cut my hair when i'm upset, i'd be more upset if the haircut goes wrong.

I make myself busy or go out from the house. I will just walk around or find some people for me to vent out.

One of the things that I will try to do when I am upset is exercise. This makes me a little bit happier because making your heart beat faster stimulates the release of endorphins into your body which give you a boost, even if it is only for a short time. One of the things that I would have done in the past would have been to eat chocolate which helped in the short term but then it would just have made me feel even worse about myself in the long term, so I am very glad that this is something that I have now managed to stop doing completely.

Getting disappoint sometime in life is but natural as no one in this world can remain happy in this world. We have some or other problem in our life and we all tend to solve them. Whenever I am disappoint for any reason either I listen the music or go out for shopping.

You are horrible? Why. You are not harming anyone just express your feelings. I try to set my mind on something else. Have to admit also that the older I get the less upset I am. If so it mostly has to do with my kids (been treating badly and their school) or money problems. If it comes to the first it helps to talk with my kids or a friend if it comes to the last I do the same (talking) and I try to find a solution (in time). Being alone I want to be too, since it's easier to calm done, think over things first (plus I don't bother anyone)

I usually try to find something I enjoy. For example, I have these cheap books with high school silly and funny quotes in them... I usually read those, and in two minutes, I'm rolling on the floor laughing. But I also go for a walk to clear my mind, dance in my room with loud music on and shout and sing away my frustration and invest the energy I feel because of the rage elsewhere. Also, writing out your frustration may help, too.

That is okay and right , when you're mad and sad let it out for is bad when you just hide it deep inside and it will cause more and deep trouble in the near future. When i am so depressed i don't go out also , i cried and write poems , in that way i am helping myself. Writing is a blessing indeed , it heals some wounds we have and help us to move on.

When upset what I do is I go for long walks. Walking clears my mind always and refreshes me.

When I'm upset I try myself not to think that way. I sit outside take a walk, read a magazine, watch movies. just something to clear my mind. Happy mylotting!

Well whenever I was upset, I closed my eyes, be silent and just feel God's presence inside my heart. No words for a few seconds or minutes. I just wanted to feel God's presence. I just wanted to make sure that I'm not alone and that I'm doing okay. After that

Hi ellebj , don't feel bad and crying is not the solution. Look whenever I get upset for something I did, then I try to rectify myself or apologise to that person whom I have hurt. But if I get upset due to the behaviour of my closed ones( the usual case), I cry silently. Then I stop talking to them for sometime so that they realise their mistake.
