Dinner

Friday my son is treating the family to Subway for dinner. Every payday he treats us to a special dinner we either get pizza or something else.Subway is one of our favorite places to eat when we can. The best part about Subway compared to other restaurants out there is it is healthier for you. We are going to try and have a picnic dinner at the park by us if it is to cold we will be coming home to eat.

The picnic sounds fantastic and glad that your son treats you out that is wonderful. I remember the first time Buke took us out to dinner, and the first time Samantha treated us out, they are wonderful memories. Most of the time we are the ones treating.

It sure is wonderful and he loves doing it. He always asks us when it gets closer to pay day ok guys what you all want for dinner on pay day. You are so right it makes for some wonderful memories when they do this. I enjoy treating my family to special things when I can which it does not happen very often.

The only way I get to spoil my kids or my husband is with my online earnings since right now I don't have a job. I am trying to find something right now then if I find something my online earnings will be extra fun money for us.

I hear you there, I haven't made any extra money since I stopped working when Dorothy was born except for my child care, and what I make online. Everything else comes out of Dennis' paycheck, but I do get to surprise them sometimes which is usually something new I make for them for dinner.

It's so nice of your son! I love family moments in a fast food restaurant, it brings my childhood back, when we always went to McDonald's when I got a good end certificate or I had a nice result on a school competition :). Now we usually go to KFC :). I've never been to Subway, but I really want to try it out once :).

Yeah he says he loves spoiling us. I use to take my kids to McDonald's all the time when they we're little especially if it had a play area in it. I would make sure I took something to keep me occupied so I was not bored. Subway is good especially if you like sandwiches and you can have anything you want on them that is the best part.

I do like Subway, as its low in calories. The prices have been going up in my area, as the special in my area is $6 for one of the subs. My newspaper talked about the higher prices for meat and looks like we will be eating less meat.

Fishmomma sorry to hear about the prices of meat rising in your area. I hate when the price of something we buy rises and then we really can't afford to get it anymore.
when you say the prices for one of the subs is $6.00 is that a footlong or 6 inch?
sishy7 Are all the foot long subs $7.00 or just a certain one? You are so right even without meat their sandwiches are still good.

Subway has a lot healthier menu options then other fast food places. The only thing I eat there is a veggie patty. Oh my gosh they are so delicious. I eat a food long one myself. I only get one maybe once every 6 months or so though. I dont like to spend money on myself. I think Scott brought me one the last time I had one. I have a gift card for there so I should stop and use it sometime soon.

Well the closest subway is about 10 miles from me. I dont like to waste gas on anything unless its really necessary and to me driving to get myself food I just cant deem as necessary. Sometime when I am out with the kids though maybe I will stop and use my gift card. I would use it on them but they dont eat anything at subway.

I agree that is why I like it a lot.I have never had a veggie patty will have to try them sometime.I would use that gift card and go while your kids are in school and just enjoy it and some time for yourself. You so deserve it.

There are at least 3 Subways within 5km from our place in different directions. Once a week we'd have either Subway or Pizza, usually on Tuesdays when they have the Cheap Tuesdays Specials. It's great, we don't have to cook dinner and that's usually when I have to take my son to his basketball games anyway...

I like Subway also. I like when they have those 5 dollar specials. I eat there once in a while. Although I am not supposed to have that or pizza anymore. but I do cheat from time to time. It would be nice to have an indoor picnic if it is too cold.

I like the $5.00 subs also. Cheating from time to time is fine as long as it is not to much. I think you are right if it is to cold out we will be doing a indoor picnic. I know when my daughter was little we use to do little ones just me and her while her brother was at school and dad was at work.

He gets paid every other Friday.My husband if we could he would eat there all the time. We like that it is healthy and you have many options for toppings.Me and my daughter normally share a footlong sub but on Friday my son said she is getting her own so I can have a whole sub even if I can't eat the whole thing in one setting I can take the rest home and have for another meal.

If I remember correctly, in the States Subway sells chips also. Here we can get what is called 'Fit Chips' at Subway. It is actually non-fried fries; I think it is oven baked so supposed to be healthier than regular french fries. It tastes drier than regular fries, but we can choose for it a dip of sour cream, sweet chilly, garlic, or some other flavors. Do you have that also?

Yes we have chips in the states both regular and also baked which is just a lower fat version of the regular ones they carry. Depending on the mood I am in and if I am dieting I will get the baked chips which are really good.

That is so neat and so kind that your son will do that for your family on the days when he gets paid. My husband gets paid every week and for that reason we will typically go out to eat at least once during the weekend. We don't really have a very favorite family restaurant, instead we have some different types of foods that are our favorites. One of the things that we like to get to eat the most is that we love to go to Mexican restaurants. This is even better now that my son is learning to speak Spanish. He is so cute in Mexican restaurants.

Thanks we enjoy doing things like this as a family we try to do it at least once a month.We always have a good time and enjoy our food and time we are together while we are sitting around a table or booth together.

It sure is nice. Yes the family is happy we enjoy our family time over dinner it is when we find out how their day has gone while they are away.
