Facing Fear With Faith

All of us experience fear at some point of time in our lives. Childhood fears include success in school examinations. Still later a fear to the dentist is feared. We carry with us the freight of illnesses. The fear of being harmed and spoiled is also rampant in our person. However it is a solid truth that too much fear keep us away from the mainstream of life and engaging in activities conducive to intellectual growth and maturity. An ardent faith in God makes quite a lot of difference in worldly existence. It prepares us to perform the seemingly impossible commitments. All fears are likely to vanish into thin air. An aura of self-confidence would usher in and make us tread upon fears in absolute courage and strength.

I know quite a few people who literally make themselves sick with fear. It is rather counter productive. To a certain extent we are what we believe we are. It makes more sense to believe we are well.

Good thinking...but who is not afraid of fearful events happening in one's life? Spiritual faith and discipline could contribute to a great extent in the facing of fear from our minds.

Feeling fear is not a really a bad thing. It makes us feel more being a human. But then, you are absolutely right my friend that we should not succumb to fear. We should face our fears, let us make it as a way to become more better person by having a great confidence on ourselves. Faith is the answer, you are right my friend, just believe and everything will go as smoothly as it should be. Keep believing my friends.

Fear for that matter is inherent in every living being. Animals ,even ferocious ones are afraid of getting hurt or tortured. The fear complex could only be overcome by firm mental stance of fighting it back with renewed energy and enormous courage.

Life is all about faith not only facing fears. When your relation with God is fine then you will have a perfect life. Every day is a challenge that faces goodness to evil. Fears are from the Lucifer tranquility is from God.

VERY TRUE...with faith. nothing is impossible. Yes we may give up at certain points in our life because of fear, we are tough at that but we are weak in that. We have different views in life and in fear but one thing we that made us in common is.. FAITH..another form of courage, fortitude and great source of strength. Even in the darkest hours of our life, there still, a morning to come.

you gotta be strong enough to trust god before you can really face fear with all courage. I do not believe that for you to be strong you gotta have no fears, nope it doesn't really work that way. For you to be strong and courageous or brave or whatever word there is to describe a person being related to this topic we are talking about right now, you gotta have fears first. It's all about having fears and being able to face them, there's no such word as fearless, every person has his/her own fear. I do not believe the word fearless, God designed fear so we can learn to trust him.

Fears are natural..specially in today's world which is full of competitions and pressures..some people just cant understand that how to get rid of them and they just get inhibited. The person who could learn to overcome its fears becomes able to make its own place one day.

Some type or other fear is in us and as we learn and become bigger we tend to overcome those fears. I had some fears also which I overcame too, though I cannot remember them now.. .Thanks for sharing and have a wonderful day ahead.

I do believe it is better to face your fear, if you will remain afraid of something. It will make your life afraid forever. Try to face the reality of being fear with faith. Good day!

"Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see." -- Hebrews 11:1 This post reminded me of the verse above. Indeed we have had fears and failures in the past and we will have fears and failures in the future. But the Good Lord is faithful and true. As human beings, we always have this "fear of the unknown". But with God on our side, all those fears will subside. Remember, our God is bigger than anything else in this world and beyond. God bless us! :)

Hi! I think most of the people have fears. When I was a child I was afraid of waters. One day, we visited our cousin's house and they had a pool about 9 feet deep. My cousins and I decided to dive in that part of the pool. Nobody knew that I had fear on waters. When it was my turn, I took a deep breath and dived and then I flosted. I was so happy then and from that time on my fear of waters had gone. I believe in the saying, " Conquer your fears!" Have a nice day!

I just posted a discussion about the fear I have right now about news from my dr. that I'm waiting for. I try to have faith in God that everything will be alright but experience tells me that there is a great possibility that it's not going to be. I try to pray but keep going back to experience and knowledge overshadows my faith.

this post reminds me of how i am not good at taking life's challenges. this is why i chant. i believe that your current condition is due to karma from past and present life choices. i don't believe in some god that hits people with problems. to me, this is what makes people mad at who they call god. my faith comes about through chanting. that i can change my life condition and make it what i want it to be, instead of just coping with whatever.

Yes, you're right. I have a lot of fears but reading your discussion, they vanished and I've gained self-confidence again. God is always with us and He will never let us down. I should keep my faith strong and not the fears. Thanks for sharing and happy mylotting.

I also started with a lot of fears when I was younger. But as I mature and become wiser, slowly these fears seem to dissolve. They do get replaced with new ones but I don't let it get the best of me anymore because of faith. Faith in myself, faith in my loved ones, faith with our Lord, and faith in humanity. I also learned that there's no better way to get rid of my fears but to face it. I cannot of course expect someone else fight my battles for me. They can help me, they can guided me, but there are som things that's best left handled by myself. My fears included.

I have a huge fear of the dentist. I too look to my faith in times like that to get me through the experience. Often when I'm having a cavity filled I'll be saying a prayer to myself. I think it helps me get through the experience a little easier.
