I wanted to order some supplies for my cafe yesterday over the phone. They arent delivery here for 2 weeks. but said if I paid with credit card today they would ship the items right out to me. I would never give my credit card over the phone, or even post it on the net. Would you?

I feel the same way. Even though most online sites say they are insured. I dont feel right doing it. Even less giving it out over the phone.

When I have to order online I use a prepaid credit card or my paypal. I do pay bills online with my personal check, but I know that I am dealing with a secure server.

That all depends on the store you're dealing with. I have done that, but with stores that I trust. I have bought my iPhone over the internet and many other things. I even buy coffee online. Look, if they want to get your credit card number, they can.

Ooppss..Be Careful, my friend. Every thing about credit card has always get our attention. Based my experience, if I have to pay with credit card in restaurant, I always watch what restaurant staff did with my card. Do not very easy for other people who slide your card in to card machine. Tell to some one about your credit card number via telephone,woooww..Do not ever do that ..

Don't give your credit card through phone or don't display on net, iam sure its not safe. even don't use through safe transaction page. My advice use paypal like something for payment.

I have ordered stuff on the phone to reputable companies and online. Don't post your credit card number where everyone can see it. Only send it when you see an http in front of the website, and usually a little picture of a lock (meaning it is secure) and if I give info over the phone, it has to be to a phone call that I initiate, if I receive a call, I never give any kind of information because I can't be sure 100% that it is a legitimate call.

hi there mariaperalta,
for me it depends, as there are some online shops which i trusted to whom i given my card number. being an online worker, i have made a list of site that i trusted so i will not have a doubt if giving my card number is good or not.

I don't pay with anything that I have to give valuable information over the internet unless I know it's a secured site. I don't give my credit card number over the phone, because what if the person that is writing it done uses it for their own personal gain? No thnaks I'd rather use cash!

Seems over the net is much more safer than giving it over the phone.
