This morning when I went out of the house to give fresh water to my dogs, I heard the sound of a kitten. When I looked out of the fence, there it was a cute kitten of golden color. It was very cute and it looked like it had an owner because it looked clean and also not boney. I thought it must be been lost or something. It stayed under a shrub outside our gate. Then I made the mistake of giving it food. Yes, a mistake, because the kitten felt comfortable and started to climb the fence. The next thing I knew was it was already in our yard. It was a good thing the fiercest of my dogs happened to be tied at that time so I only had to deal with the other one. There was no problem with the labrador, but the other mutt was really trying to go near the kitty. I was afraid it would bite and hurt it. We had to do some interventions so the dogs won't hurt the kitten who was trying to defend itself. Finally, we got a bucket of water and started splashing on the dogs so they would go away. When they did stay away from the kitten, my helper immediately grabbed the kitten and let it out of the fence. Whew! I saw the fear in the kitten's eyes when one of my dogs tried to go near it. I didn't want to think of the poor kitten being hurt by my own dogs. Luckily it was able to escape unscathed. Did you have any similar experience with your pets lately?

That's why I do always sure that our gate is always closed Odie don't like cats since he grew up alone with no cats around him. I'm afraid when they can hurt each other. One time big cat came in the yard and Odie was making his pee he attacked the cat and he got scratch I know he got hurt because he cried a bit. Since them I always sure no cats can come in.

Yeah. It is better to keep other animals away than to see them in a fight.

Well, it's almost the same however it is another dog not a cat. Our dogs ran after another dog that is not ours. Our dogs kept on barking on him for minutes and we all woke up because of the noise. Then we see the poor dog. Anyway, he was able to run and back at his place. :-)

It is still scary to think of what dog fights will lead to.

Hmmm yes but mine is so different. We have one kitten and one dog. When they eat each other, they don't fight but what I don't understand is if our dog wants to play the kitten, the kitten would hiss and defend herself from our dog, but if the kitten would play the dog's tail, he would go away and our kitten would hiss. I still don't understand the behavior of the two pets we have here at house.

Thanks for sharing friend I don't have pet cat or pet dogs, but here one can see tons of stray dogs and cats on the streets; at times the dogs chase cats more particularly kittens, so sad lol.

I know that these two are arch enemies but I don't want my own dogs to hurt any animal.
