After Eating Chocolate

I don't know wether or not I'm imagining it or not but it seems everytime I eat any kind of chocolate it immediately feels like I have gained a pound or inch around my waist! Ugh, I dislike that feeling too but chocolate happens to taste too good to resist sometimes. I had some really good almond milk plus some pumpkin cake with cream cheese frosting that was better than chocolate for awhile this week but now that it's gone I'm back to the chocolate again and it didn't even taste that great to me. Do you think there is anything that tastes better than chocolate and if so what is it?

I think you are just bloated. They certainly do taste too good to resist. Especially the truffles and fancy ones with the chocolate liquor in them. Something that tastes better than chocolate. Have you ever had 'marziapan'? It is made from almonds and has a very good flavor. Check it out!

Well, there is marzipan and then there is marzipan! There are those molded fruit things you can get that are made of it and they are awful. But the chocolates that have marzipan in are delicious. I wish the almond milk wasn't so expensive.

Yep I think that might have been what my Grandmother bought, they were terrible. There are probably new kinds out on the market though these days like the chocolate you write about now. Almond milk can be expensive, I printed out a online coupon for it recently and if I catch it on sale one day before the coupon expired I will buy it again then. It has carageenan in it too which some people say causes cancer so I won't consume it very often.

Possibly but I have no idea what that is supposed to feel like. I think my paternal grandmom used to buy marzipan long ago, I tried it one time and didn't care for it. I do love almonds in other foods though and now I have this 'obscession' with Almond Milk--oh yum, tastes better than regular milk. Then again it has more calcium but less protein. Vanilla soy milk is the same way with me, I 'd rather drink that than reg milk.

I don't think much beats chocolate for very long. I buy the baking bars that are 70 calories to 100 calories a square with either no added salt or very little or no added sugar or very little. you melt the square to savor it and it's way better than candy bars that are hundreds of calories. Another wonderful way to have chocolate is hot chocolate drink. That can be around a hundred calories and be savored.
I love a good cup of chai. That keeps me from cholate for a while. But chocolate chai is really, really good!

Not all baking squares, you have to read the lables.
Chai is a spiced tea that is often sweatened with honey and served with milk. Think of pumpkin without all the spices and milk. It's just a darker colored squash flesh. Now think of pumpkin pie with the spices and milk. Chai does all that to tea. It's amazing. Also a great enegizer and anti-depressant. Makes you happy and full of energy. Chai is expensive at a coffee shop, but worth it. Not all coffee shops are the same. Borders makes the most diluted and pathetic chai I've even seen. So try chai a few places before you decide if you like it or not. But a small around here is almost 4 dollars. Interestingly the Tibetan place I went to served it without much milk and it was not as good like pumpkin pie without the milk.
I hope you like pumpkin pie or this isn't a very good comparison for you.

I try to read alot of the labels on many items, I'm going to have to do that with the chocolate squares now. Oh that Chai tea is something for me as well, I am often depressed and unenergized. Get tired very fast. Yes, there are all kinds of it, some teas not as good as the others. Expensive, wow I'll say at $4. for one cup, is it? Pumpkin pie is also good, yes I like most anything with it in it. I'm the only one here in the family who likes it besides my grandmother who passed away.

I Love chocolate. Especially if it also has Carmel with it, and from time to time it is just something I feel I have to have. For me I think the reason you might feel Fatter after you have some might be because of how sweet it is. I know if I eat too much of it, I tend to feel this way. Maybe making sure you do not wait til you absolutely are craving some will help as well?

Hmmm, yes caramel is delicious too and it just adds more flavour to the already yummy chocolates that we buy and eat. I am lucky I can go a few weeks without it if I stay away from it slowly again. Like recently I can touch a package of it without even opening it to consume. Do you think it's due to the sugar content? I wish I knew why it seems I have gained a pound right after eating it.

i pretty much only eat dark chocolate because if i eat milk chocolate, i can feel my throat closing because it just seems to add to the phlegm that is already there. try some dark chocolate and see if you feel the same way. besides, dark chocolate (in moderation) is supposed to be good for you!

Yes, it seems I know limits but am getting worse at controlling my urges to eat but these days all I have to do is look at food and I can gain weight it seems. I gained back all the weight I lost a few years ago now and hate it. I have to start losing again but with the holidays here it will be even double hard for me.

Sometimes I just can't get enough chocolate! I don't know that there is anything else that tastes as good or satisfies like it does.
Even though I may gain a poind or two, I think I need some chocolate now just htinking about it!!

To each his own, I guess. But I myself love chocolates. Actually, my whole family does, even my 8-year-old son. I however don't feel like I'm gaining a pound or two when I've eaten a chocolate bar or even a slice of cake. Maybe I'm a bit confident that I'll burn those fast through workouts. Besides I think my metabolism is still great at my age. That's probably why I never had the sort of guilty feeling each time I eat chocolate. My wife does

Oh so you have work outs, that is how you do it. Then I will have to start working out myself again. I do miss it and when i was thinner I didn't feel as sluggish as I do now. I lost weight and only weighed like 122 a year or so ago but then I found out I had this tumor that was benign and was afraid to excersize much til it I got it out. I will have to get back on track again with the weight loss as I feel I put back on at least 10 pounds.

I know what you mean because it is hard to stop with one small square of chocolate. :) I like the dark chocolate, it seems it has more chocolate in it and also, it doesn't have as much sugar.
Chocolate is good for us - I think it is a de-stresser, well, at least for me. I do try to be careful not to eat too much chocolate, though. But this past Christmas season, I gave up on being careful. I enjoyed my chocolate this Christmas season.
Now, it is back to exercising and watching that I don't eat too much Chocolate! :)
