will the rating bar beside our name matter?

It has to do with the quality of your discussion and what mylot feels about it. The ratings is what mylot members feel about your discussions. And if it did matter, then if there were some mylotters who really hated you, they could gang up and give you minuses to make sure you did not make as much. So you could be very good and articulate and say how much you love cats if someone hated cats and loved dogs and told all the dog lovers to give you minuses, then it would not affect your earnings.

I will have to check that. It was a while ago, and it was as if they ganged up on me and probably before the new rule was in place. I hardly give negatives and when I fell like it, I only do it on a last resort but I feel like telling the person that he should not have done it, so he can tell my lot to get rid of his discussion and then he can reword it in a polite way.

Wrong!
If users are abusing the rating system then myLot admins will do something about it.
We are told in the FAQs that the rating sustem is factored into the aglorthm and that it does affect our earnings.
Those of us who have had lower stars in the past have seen the difference when it rises.

What you 'think' about this matter is not really important.
It is what myLot tells us in the FAQs that counts.

hi,
when i was new here in mylot i didn't read the guidelines and policy,but gradually i have noticed that the star in our account changing and its number,and it will according to a user who will mark positive or negative in our discussion or even in our response.

I don't know if it matters or not but somewhere on the guidelines/FAQ I read that there is effect of our reputation on earning algorithm of Mylot but up to what extent it effects only Mylot knows it.
