timesofindia.indiatimes.com/life-style/. I read in the link above, about not washing your poultry.I love chicken and cook it so very often and i always wash it.Now i am in a fix.To wash or not to wash. What do you reckon???What will you do.Change your habits or what??And what i am most interested in knowing is how will your family react to it.

timesofindia.indiatimes.com/life-style/ I tried your link and it didn't work for me.. What was the reason they said not to wash chicken? Whatever it is I wouldn't listen to it, but an curious why they said it since it doesn't make sense to me. In fact I even rinse beef steaks which is suppose to be a big no-no lol..but I do it...

Sorry the link is not working. It is just a precautionary measure to keep the bacteria in control and not-let them spread as this is the main cause of food contamination. And also how cooked and raw meat should never touch each other.

This is the same story: http://www.newkerala.com/news/newsplus/worldnews-102282.html#.UKVfRWc3nLQ The reason is that washing the meat is likely just to spread the bacteria further than necessary, contaminating the taps, sink &c.

I always wash the meats before I cook them. And actually sometimes we also have to soak the meat into the hot water for a while so that the bad smell will be gone. And therefore the meat will be much more delicious. If cooking without washing the meat at first, I think it is not clean.

I plan to continue washing the chicken, but will not turn on the faucet so high to reduce splash. I do clean the counters and sink with a Clorox Cleanser to reduce the risk to my family. Its hard to know what information to believe, but most sites say wash the chicken.

I cannot understand the rationale behind it... But it's still better to wash them for sanitary and safety purposes. It's still better to be sure especially when you buy dressed chicken from the market because you do not know where they came from or where they placed them before they're being displayed.

I do not believe in washing chicken, or other meat. You just need to heat up the frying pan to a hot standard, then you will cook away all the bad bacterias. By washing the chicken, you get bacterias on your hands and you will just spread it out every where. Here in the Netherlands I believe our chicken and other meat are just fine qua hygienic matters, we do not need to pre wash it before cooking.
