Canceled Television Shows

Once again we see television shows have been canceled, but this time I understand why it happened. Networks have to make money on a show and when there are less people watching each week, then the network must take some kind of action.
This is what happened to Partners, Last Resort and 666 Park Avenue. Personally, I would have liked to see Last Resort moved to a different time and day slot to give it a chance, but understand ABC did what they thought was the answer. This tells me they have several shows ready to go by January, as we will be seeing all the episodes of Last Resort and 666 Park Avenue. Reruns will air in Partners spot and I expect the ratings will be higher than Partner's ratings.
Are you surprised? Do you agree with the networks decision?

I wasn't watching any of those three so for a change some cancellations don't bother me. In the past I have been unhappy with many of the cancellations such as Fast Forward, V, and many others. I hate when they cancel a good show and it is the networks fault because they scheduled it opposite one or two very popular well established shows and it just didn't have a chance to get started.

My daughter isn't happy about the ending of 666 Park Avenue; however, I have been telling her the ratings were dropping and the network had to do something. She suggested moving the show and I asked where would she put the show, as a hit show aired right before the new show. It really had a fair chance. Thanks for posting.

I haven't watched any of the shows you mentioned, but it does irk me when I get interested in a show and they cancel it. I used to watch Kyle XY on ABC Family, and just when the show got really interesting the network cancelled it. My kids said they let the plot get too complicated and it would be too hard to continue the story line so they cancelled it.
I agree with you about why they cancel shows. It is all about money and if the ratings for a show drop below a certain level for a period of time the sponsors won't pay as much so they cancel the show and find something more popular for the slot.

I really enjoyed Kyle XY and miss it. The show really was interesting when it started, but at the end think the younger viewers really found it hard to follow. The show was on a family network, so the fact that the story lines weren't easy to follow was a big problem. I thought it was great to see a show that didn't make me think that it was more for certain ages and gender. Thanks for posting.

ABC is certainly giving Nashville a ratings reprieve. They ordered a full season. I guess with critics absolutely crazy about that show they feel they need to keep it around. I thought it was be a really big success. I like Connie Britton so I want to see her do well. I don't personally watch it. But I hope it succeeds. The ratings challenged new program I watch is Beauty and the Beast. I'm not a rabid fan, so if it were canceled it wouldn't bother me too much. The other new programs I watch are doing well in the ratings. Oh, well, The Mindy Project is kind of floundering, but it's doing better than some of FOX's other comedies.

I don't think Beauty and the Beast will get a second season. I'm not sure what should air after The Vampire Diaries, but it can't drop the huge number of people that is now happening. I think if 90210 should get more viewers like this past Monday, then the Thursday show should leave. Heart of Dixie had good numbers also with an 0.6. We shall soon see if the Thursday Show moves up, as 0.5 isn't good enough to stay.

I think all the new shows I've watched this season are going to be cancelled except for "Revolution." Obviously, it's disappointing, but I just try to enjoy shows as long as they last without getting too attached to them. I'm very glad we'll be able to see all the episodes of Last Resort and 666 Park Avenue -- that's much better than having a show suddenly yanked before it's had a chance to develop. The other new show I've enjoyed watching this season is the Mob Doctor which I think has had even lower ratings than LR and 666. At any rate, I mainly blame the TV-watching audience for not giving these new shows a chance.

The Mob Doctor has had lower ratings and I'm sure its just a matter of time before its canceled. The FOX Network has been patient by not canceling right away. We know many new shows are going to be canceled each year, but its still hard to see it happen. Thanks for posting.

I would be happy if sometime networks stop to think about the people who view the shows beforee cancelling them. I hope these cancelled shows will be done in such a way that the people in charge of the scripts don`t leave loose ends.

I agree that shows should leave the viewers satisfied with the conclusion when the network gives them enough time to tie things up. We know some shows have done a good job of ending like Mash. Its hard to say good bye when many shows end, but almost all will leave at some point. We know the news, sports and weather will continue to air.

Honestly, I have to say that nothing surprises me anymore. There have even been several shows over the last couple of years that I have heard a lot about that have still been canned after just a couple of months. The shows that you've mentioned here, the only time that I've heard anything about them was before the shows were released. Since they've started, I haven't heard anything more about them.
I look forward to seeing what is going to be coming next.

I'm always looking forward to new television shows, as there is always one show that really makes me look forward to that show each week. This year its Arrow for me, which turned out the supporting case has me wanting to watch the show. The show has a great cast.

I dont know any of those show mention but I have seen shows that I enjoy watching got cancel after one season . I really thought Terra Nova would have had a second season but I guess enough people just weren't watching it .

Terra Nova just didn't have enough viewers. It really wasn't promoted the way other shows are now. I wish networks would evenly promote all their new shows, but when networks air shows they don't own the show doesn't get enough promoting. Thanks for posting.

I have never understood the tv game. As they really don know what we watch. They take a survey in diff. areas to decide this. I think they need a better way to choose what gets tossed.

Many shows are now available to watch online, which is how I'm watching several shows. I think one big problem is where the networks place new shows, as some just don't really get a good chance to make it like Last Resort. If the show had been placed at a later time of the night the shows before it could have helped promote the show. Thanks for posting.

I'm glad all the episodes that have been made will air for Last Resort and 666 Park Avenue. Networks do have to make money, so I understand the decision to cancel them. I feel for Partners watchers, as the episodes that were made won't air. Thanks for posting.
