Will Lionel Make a Messi of Muller's Record?

November 21, 2012 11:53pm CST
We are almost in the last week of November and as the year draws to a close Messi is getting closer to legendary German striker Gerd Muller's record for most goals scored in a calendar year. His two goals on Tuesday night brought his tally to an incredible 80 goals for 2012! However, he is still 5 behind Muller who chalked up 85 in one year. Is it just a matter of time before Messi surpasses the target or is time running out? Surely, injuries or suspensions apart, he will do it. What do you think?

I would not be surprised if he messes up all the goal scoring records currently there. Already he is the second highest goal scorer in Champions League history with only Raul ahead of him. No will bet against him beating this record as well. I think that Messi will break both these records!! Cheers! Ram

Well yes, you have to think that only cruel fate could deny him at this stage. I hope he does it as he is the most incredible player I have ever witnessed.

He will. I don't know exactly how many matches he has left this year... one with Benfica on the UEFA Champions League, and some others for the spanish league... He will break that record, no doubt about it.
