Are there any women in the entertainment industry with brains? Or the guts to go against the latest fashion? I am wondering about these crazy heels they are marketing. Why doesn't somebody actually say, "they're bad for your feet, they're bad for your back they're hard to walk in, they're just plain uncomfortable, heck they look ridiculous". Why do you think this is?

I saw something about this very thing just the other night. I think it was on the world news. It said that some women are getting elective surgery to have their little toes removed. Even the tops of their toes taken off so they can wear heels easier and more comfortably. Reminded me of the Chinese women who bound their feet. They would rather be in fashion than have brains. I wonder how many of them break their ankles.

I heard that too. Shades of the Ugly Stepsister who cut off her toes so she would fit the glass slipper...

I don`t know if they look ridiculous. I think they look rather nice in some Barbie bodies (not mine). But then, I never pretended to be a Barbie. I saw a show on TV a couple of months ago about what those shoes did to feet. My feet hurt because I`m old, but I think that I`d be on a wheelchair if I has used those heels at some time in my life. Fashion is weird. And woman who accept it are not the brightest ones.

I think heels make the legs look nicer, but I'm talking 2" - 3" heels. These really high ones do look ridiculous to me. People walking in them just look like they are going to topple over.

I would certainly break my ankles in a short time. I have many questions about shoes lately. I have also seen many shoes whose soles don`t bend at all. My feet bend when I walk so I guess that I`ll end up wearing just sneakers.

I can never imagine myself wearing a six inch heels... the two inch can already be very uncomfortable and they leave my feet in pain... so this six inch heels might already kill me... Fashion designers design not for comfort but for a sense of fashion... i just hope they try wearing these shoes too so that they would know and feel the pain...

Yup, even two inch bother me now. But what really bothers me are shoes with really thin soles. I have to put in cushy insoles or the bottom of my feet bother me.

My five foot nothing mother used to trip along in the highest heels she could find. I suppose they were close to four inches. I always stayed at 2-3 inches. I could not wear them and would not want to but the fashion people have to be extreme and market to make money I suppose. Pretty ridiculous to me

I stayed at 2 to 3 also. Now I pretty much only wear heels for job interviews and weddings, but then I have had back problems since I was 30.

I think for them... they want to keep their job. Lol. I think some bosses would fire you if you complain about any job-that one included! The boss does not care what you like or what is good or bad for you, they care about you making money for them! So, I doubt even if they ALL complained that the boss would do a darn thing about it...

There are always more girls coming in who want to "make it" if one makes trouble. Once you become a big name it's different, I imagine.

Dawnald, I so agree with you on this, I think they have brains but they are not thinking right, and it's all about fashion and behind close doors there feet are hurting really bad, as they get older they will have all kinds of bunions, corns etc. my feet hurt from looking at them trying to walk.

Because like most movie stars , it doesn't matter how unsafe or how uncomfortable they are , they will wear them to attract men And to get hired. Most men love high heels so many women grim and bare it.

I know just what you are saying. I have never ever understood why anyone in their right mind would want to torture themselve by wearing those shoes. They were in style years ago and have for some stupid reason, made a comeback. I've never been able to wear any sort of heels and actually never had a desire to. I am all about comfort. I live in moccasins, knock-off uggs and flip-flops. I've worn heels when I've had to like for a wedding or something and it is torture. And these 6Inch ones are more than ridiculus. There is a girl that comes into the store I work in that wears all vintage clothing.Normally, I compliment her on how creative and fashionable she is with this older stuff. Lately she has been wearing this awful heels and hers are vintage. She admitted that it took her some practice to walk in them. They ruin the whole look of whatever she is wearing. They really look bad when she pairs them up with jeans. I always get complments on what I wear. I dress pretty simple and its in style but not trendy. I dress for my body type and what I'm comfortable in. Women are suckers for the latest trend.

As a man, I really don't recommend my girl to wear high heels. It's not because it makes her taller than me, but I am just concern about her safety. When women wear this high heels they are more prone to accident. Although it makes them really sexy, but hey its good to just wear them during occasions.

I think heels make the legs look nice, but 2 - 3 inches, the taller ones just look funny to me. And yeah, I can't imagine having to run in them.

As far as I concerned! I like to see girls wearing 6 inches or more than. For young girls, I think this should not be uncomfortable, they are fresh. Those girls, who Wear high heels, I attract most rather than girls who wear filp flop types or flat sandals. Those heels bring Goddess look to their personality so I can't hesitate to drop myself on their high heel sandals.

hi, i think celebrities can wear six inch heels because they are already practiced to wear below six inches heels before so wearing of it is not new to them, but for me i will not wear any high heels because i didn't practice it ever since.

Do you ever think that maybe they're not being "brainless" or following "fashion trends" but that they are just the type to wear heels? Just because you don't doesn't mean that other people don't either or that they just do it because their stylist tells them to. I have a closet full of stilettos, 5 inches and higher and I wear them because I like to not because I'm a mindless follower of fashion trends. To me, they're not really uncomfortable it you're wearing them in the right size and I could run a marathon in my stilettos,, I go up and down steps, dance in them, walk, run or jog if I have to....just keep in mind that just because you may not agree with something or think its silly there are other people out there that think you look just as silly in your boring flats that look like ballerina shoes while we're walking in our sexy stilettos....not knocking you, just saying!

I don't really care what other people think of how I look. But anyway, I'm sure you're right. Or partly right. Somebody might see a pair of those shoes, and really love them. But I am sure there are others who are wearing them to fit in. But have you looked at what it does to your body? http://www.personalhealthzone.com/high_heels.html The young think they are invincible, but eventually their choices catch up to them.

Hi Dawnald, personally I think a lot of them look really nice but the highest I'll go is about 3 inches and it must be a chunky heel that tapers down. Why should we spend crazy amounts of money only to look crazy trying To balance in those things? Not to mention the excruciating pain and The all to real threat of falling. Interesting fact tho, I constantly teeter in High heels, but I can run like a bat outta hell in them if I have to: I used to live In Brooklyn and I've had to run down a few buses...

High heels have always been in vogue. But shoe designers keep increasing the height of heels making it look weird especially the fat heels type. Just look at those models with skinny legs on a platform six inches heels they look awkward. But they seem to catwalk gracefully. I don't think I can ever wear high heels without the aid of a walking stick. I think I can only walk one step before I fall flat on my face. I prefer sandals as it is more comfortable.

I could never wear heels that high. I recently bought my first pair of high heels for a work meeting. When I was at the store looking at shoes there were a couple of women trying on some 6 inch heels and trying to walk in them and laughing while they were trying to make it a few feet without holding onto something. They joked with me that I should try them. I just shook my head and told them that my foot doesn't bend that way. They both agreed and put them back on the shelf. I don't understand how heels that high ever got into fashion. I personally think that they look ridiculous as well as being painful. These women are going to mess up their ankles and not be able to work. Then they might see the error of their ways I guess.

I couldn't do six-inch heels. Actually, I've taken to avoiding heels for the most part during the past few months. They weren't doing anything good for my feet, unfortunately. Women in the entertainment industry who do wear heals like that do it in order to maintain a certain image. Is a woman who doesn't cultivate an image of sexiness (complete with the gravity-defying high heels) really going to land the role of leading lady in a major film? Most likely she won't.

I think they are crazy too. I don't mind to wear a heel but there are some crazy heights. It reminds me. I saw this crazy race where the women were wearing these spike heels. There was a shot in the air and off the ribbon they ran. This one woman must have been born in heels. All you seen was a streak and heels beneath.

i really don`t like high heels.. 2 inch is enough for me but i`m not really using heels.. in special occasion maybe yes.. but some people think that wearing these heels really makes them more attractive so they ignore the pain of wearing it.. i have nothing against the people wearing it in fact i salute their dedication because it is really painful..

there is a price that a person must be willing to pay so called beauty.Beauty costs something, right? so it is easy to understand. like the American women in the middle age, they had to tight their belt for smaller waist!and some kinds of high heel is very high form their appearance, actually they are not, it depens on the design of the high heel.
