Today is Sunday and for me it is a laid back day. I relax, doing nothing much, taking a stroll in the garden listening to the chirping of birds, watching tv, reading the paper and over seeing what my maid is up to. As I was strolling I was pleasantly surprised to see this creeper in full bloom. I call it the purple cluster as I do not its real name. It blooms just about twice in the year. I took pictures of this cluster from all angles and here is one for you.

I check the photo and I can say that it's such a lovely scenery. I love nature and that is one thing I miss from my hometown. I lived here in metro city and only visit my hometown once a year or sometimes twice a year. I am planning to visit my hometown this coming February to witness and attend the Flower Festival Sunday is always a hectic day for me-...it seems the day is not enough to fulfill all my duties and other responsibilities.

A waterfalls, I like that idea. Someday I wish to build a pavilion - a place for rent, for special occasions (whew- that's my dream) Wish my mom will agree with it...our place in my hometown is a perfect venue for nature lovers- a fairy tale wedding concept and I will add that waterfalls

Good idea. If you can be sure of a good clientele and the access to your place is convenient a venue like that will make you rich overnight. I had a business designing landscaped gardens and one of the features was always a waterfall.

We gave up our glamour life so to say and settled down in a semi rural town. Here we were able to get land much cheaper and it gave me an opportunity to design my dream home and garden. I was a landscaped garden designer having designed serveral gardens for builders in the Metro. I did that for myself here. I have a waterfall too.

Usually on Sundays I am at my boyfriends house having a relaxing day with him but we got together this weekend on Friday instead because I had other plans Saturday night. So I'm just home relaxing buy myself today been doing some Christmas shopping online and watching movies. Pretty soon I'll be getting ready and then have our bowling league tonight from 6-9 which we have every Sunday. Love those kinds of trees or bushes whatever it may be, so pretty. Glad your enjoying your Sunday just as I am. Enjoy the rest of your day.

Sunday has its own flavour somehow no matter which part of the globe one is, each doing their own thing but remembering to relax, no doubt!

now that is pretty--it reminds me jacarandas, but I don't think it is, since they are trees more than shrubs. It looks like a beautiful day over there-- of course we had a whole hour of sunlight today here (which was cool). You live in beauty

I am more than satisfied with what I have here, which keeps me merrily on my toes, even on other days but more so on Sundays as I hardly do any work. My friend who visited us from the UK envied us for the sun we have here. Is sunlight rationed out where you live too?

well, it is sunny 6-8 weeks in summer-- most of the time. And a few odd days the rest of the year. It isn't nearly like Olympic national forest, by Seattle-- that is the largest temperate rainforest in the world, gets 300 inches of rain a year-- here, we get 30-50 inches a year. But after 80 or 90 days without nice sunlight, it gets a little dull. Wow-- my star is blue. What the heck does that mean, anyway? I never really got that part.

hi allknowing I am sure you must have herd that great ghazal "Dil Dhoondhta Hai" and this discussion of yours reminded me just that one. How wonderful the early morning sun feels on a winter morning. Sundays have always been special to many and me too... earlier when I used to work, this was the only day I could get to enjoy my way though there was always some extra work like washing clothes and arranging the room (it was in such a mess... but then, a bachelors room I guess is supposed to be that way). Now I am married, and the bachelor's room has started turning into a family guys room but then... sundays are still special as many of these days, me and my wife are together...

No matter which part of the globe we are in, Sundays have a special stamp and somehow it points to relaxing. I do very little on Sundays and loll around but never miss my strolls in my garden that I have designed with great effort. It is now fully grown with lots of yielding trees, bushes, plants, a waterfall, birdbath and flowering plants. My terrace garden is doing well too.

But did the landlady reward you? I hope she did! Did I inspire you to start gardening thesids? If so my day is done. Nothing like gardening. It takes away the blues. Now this whitish green leaf plant is it a flowering plant?May be you can post a picture here. Tulsi is a must in every house specially the Hindus. I have black tulsi all over the garden and I am not a Hindu!

I have just started planting plants in pots on the terrace. Have just two of them at the moment but I think I would definitely add a raat ki rani (jasmine? I think). There is one plant whose name I dont know but has whitish greeny leaves and then there is a tulasi (Holy Basil) - I got that last sunday. I have another pot and I have got that filled today - did some digging in my landlord's garden and the old lady was - oh dear, why are you doing that... take care of your gall bladder stones

There is almost nothing better than a quiet and sunny day spent outdoors where one can just relax and really enjoy life and well nature and the time off to freshen up and rejuvenate for the week ahead. Any plans for the rest of the weekend?

I had written a poem for seniors and in these 2 lines I had suggested how they should spend their leisure hours besides of course other things: Sit by the sea for hours Stop by and smell the flowers It is not just for seniors this applies to every one I guess. One needs to take time off and spend time with nature.

Once again, I am overcome with jealousy..it is cold...cold and wet here! And the only excitement is "how many shades of gray" the sky can be!!! Being that I cannot discern the structure of the leaves or flowers, it is impossible for me to even guess what genus THAT beauty belongs to...BUT, of cours, as usual, my curiousity is piqued! From the picture (as it is posted) it looks somewhat like a Clematis (Montana)..and Clematis' come in three groups, as their name determines..Group 1, blooms once a season..2, Twice and 3, thrice! Is this beautiful speciment aromatic? Am waiting for the local news...as something woke me at 2:10 this a.m., and also put my animals into a somewhat frenzy...I am hoping that it was not another earth=quake, as the one 5 weeks ago was enough for a while! Have a great, ethereal Sunday...mine will be quite active..work a.m. and then off to a gathering of acquaintances...today is our biggest Football game of the year..the 100th Grey Cup!

Have added a comment to your photo..and (thanks for sharing!) I must tho; again, ask two questions..is it aromatic, and is it vinial (vine like) and the third question (duh)Is it a vine that is growing over a shrub in your garden? I lied, that was 3 questions! I think this is the same determination I made last time...it was the one, I determined as a Bougainvaillea that we disagreed on, if I recall properly...but you would have the "wizardry" of the computer world, to dig up that discussion...LOL! Still no matter it's genus..such a beautiful species to greet you each day!

It was the sweet peas that you said looked like bouganvillae and this, you were still at it. This is a creeper that rests on another tree and trails down and it has no aroma.

being one with nature could be a relaxing feeling indeed. How I wish our place has a garden of its own. Unfortunately, the whole place is just full of cemented pavement, as there are a lot of vehicles being parked here, as well as a few of the construction equipment of my father in law which he had from his former company. I didn't have much sleep last night and so I was hoping to have a relaxing Sunday myself, too. Well, it is kinda hot today and it makes me sleepy but couldn't. So I just logged back in to use my spare time.

We too were in the Metro surrounded by the concrete jungle. We opted out of it and decided to settle down in a semi rural town where we live a laid back kind of life surrounded by greenery that we have created. Here too slowly many buildings are coming up but fortunately our property is skirted by 3 roads and so we are safe.

This environment was created by us from scratch. Gardening is my passion and I have planted a lot of flowering bushes, flowering plants and flowering trees besides fruit trees. I get to see a lot around me as this is what was chosen by us after bidding goodbye to city life.....

Oh wow, they're really gorgeous! I love flowers especially when they just recently bloomed. Unfortunately I don't have the hand to nurture a plant or a flowering plant to bloom, so I guess I will just have to content myself with pictures and the neighbors' gardens.

That is really gorgeous plants. It is great to see what you have planted and blooming beautifully. For me Sunday is a family day. I will the chauffeur of day fetching my wife and son to wherever they like to go. Most of the time, morning will be in the church then to the mall for lunch, read and browse book at book shop or watching a movie.
