While I was on my trip to San Diego, I noticed that on the McDonald, menu board in the airport, they posted the nutrition fact on every item of their menu. Like Whopper Jr contains around 400 calories, so and so. While I was in Olive Garden, I also noticed that number of calories beside the items on their menu too. So, after you read those nutrition fact, would it scare you a bit, especially you are a lady, because you might not want to swallow that much calories all at once to your mouth, you still want to be fit and slim. What do you think? For myself, whatever is my favorite, I just won't care anymore. I might just would work out a bit harder than usual, hopefully to counter those calorie fats.

The facts are posted by law. But lets face it, no one wants to eat fast food all the time. I can see eating McDonald's once in a while. Not every day. And if someone was to eat that garbage everyday they will not survive. I think it is a good idea to show people how unhealthy that stuff really is.

Accolades...I heartily agree with YOU! Fast Foods are a load of empty calories, with little or NO nutritional benefits! On "MarketPlace"-- a CBC, TV station last night...since the year 2000, the obesity rate has increased by 57 percent...and I think that is 57 percent of McD's, KFC's, and et. als' Fast Foods being freighted around on obese bodies! I so seldom eat from any of these outlets, that I get sick each and every time!

I hear you loud and clear. I could not agree with you more. You said it all and it is one of the main reasons that there is obesity around the world. Again, there goes corporate america at work once again. They are trying to kill us off. LOL. Well, I wonder.

It scares me because I am a health conscious person. I don't just eat and eat random food. As much as possible, what I eat are foods which I think is good for my body and will help my body to become healthy. However, I can't still get away with food that tempts me a lot that I have to give in and take a bite.

The key to this is to really eat in moderation. And nutritionist say that in order for us not to get fat even if we eat a lot of calories is to burn it through exercise or any daily activity. Meaning that if you live a sedentary lifestyle, then there is no need for you to consume more than 2000 calories. A few weeks back, I tried counting the calories and limiting my food intake since I need to lose weight due to my hypertension. What happened was the exact opposite. I gained 5lbs with eating only oatmeal and veggies, and to think I cut out on our staple carbs, which is rice. I also felt weak and dizzy. So now, I no longer count the calories and I have started eating normally again and my weight is dropping again. The calorie counter is just a guide. People love to blame something or someone for what is happening in their lives. Fast food chains entice you to eat at their restaurant, but they did not force you to eat extra helpings. It's still up to you to decide what you eat, regardless of the calories.

I don't care about how many calories I consume. I do care, however, about all the nasty rubbish that is in the "food" at such places. I also care about the impact that such places have on the environment and society.

Putting Nutritional facts with the menu kills your appetite. Still you can skip looking at it and enjoy your favorites. :)

I guess, in a way, I hope it DOES scare us a little. Before I knew what I was actually putting in my body, I would eat tons of that stuff without blinking. I'd drink several (or more) cans of soda a day. Every meal was full of garbage. Now that the information is put in front of my face, I still can't say I'm a health food nut - but I do at least think about it before I eat certain foods, cut down on the amount of it I take in, and make other changes to adapt my lifestyle if I do decide to consume lots of fat. It's easy to exercise a bit more or eat less calories at other meals. I hope having the information at least causes us all to slow down and think about what we're eating.
