Catty Observations

Last night my cat was in the window next to me while I was trying to sleep. I groaned out loud at one point cause I got frustrated on not being able to sleep. She came out of the window and looked over at me for a few, and then slept on the pillow next to me. As if she wanted to know what was wrong. That is the second time she did something like that, she is the most "observant" cat I have ever had.

Yes I got three dogs two of them are very emotional My male a yorkie is never really attached to me he is daddy's boy,but short before I had a seizure he came to me jumped on my lap and started to lick my face,he never done that before first I thought it was a coincidence When he done it the second time I went straight to bed before the seizure set in And my little chi don't like it when I am crying she comes and cuddle up with me and cries with me till I stop. So I am not allowed to cry in my own house lol

Wow do you think your doggie knew you were about to have those seizures, they are so attentive even moreso than people around you sometimes (here anyways). What kind of seizures are they? Awe that is so sweet when your lil chi cried with you, poor thing thinks something is wrong and doesn't know how to stop it for you other than to join in. LOL at not being allowed to cry in your own house, that is funny.

Awe he loves you and although he probably doesn't know that you saved his life if he were able to percieve this he would show it more that he loves you. Sometimes out pets will favor who they want to favor and it has nothing to do with how we treat them etc. My cat will only sit on my dad's lap for instance but she won't get to close to my brother cause he is always yelling at her for this and that. I'm so glad he is there when or before you have your seizure, that is something that shows he loves you right there. Not all animals have that special characteristic and we shouldn't hold it against them f they don't cause they are what they are--animals and not people. I have people here who are family members who don't even care that much about me it seems. I'm sure your chi isn't ugly but even if she was, the fact she is most caring proves that you can't judge anything by it's cover anyways. God bless them all and you.

Oh, yes, our dog is very concerned about my well being. Some times in my sleep I'll snore and then quit for a period of time. When my husband isn't home at nights our dog will take her cold, wet nose and nudge me. Apparently, I'm in the in between stages and she can't hear me, so she nudges me to wake me up. Our dog is also my ears, since I have hearing loss she will know when something is invading our space and she will let me know.

Dogs are probably even more responsive to things like that. I remember long long ago when we were kids, my aunt said their german shepard tried to protect my cousin as a kid from a car or something to that nature(I forget now all the details) but I found that to be fascinating. She still has a german shepard to this day who guards the businesses she and her hubby own. Your dog is a sweetheart, has she been trained to work with the deaf or does she just have the instinct of the knowledge that you don't hear very well?

My husband has trained dogs before and he has a way with her. So I don't know if he let her know or if she just has the ability to understand that I can't hear. Either way, she does good for me.

Willy, Khuay and Murphy are really tuned into my needs, whether I am feeling down, happy, in pain, can't sleep or any number of other emotions or physical conditions. It is fascinating to me to see what each cat will do in the different situations. They never do the same thing twice...it's like they know exactly what is going to do the trick to take care of my needs. I often wonder about cats and their bonds to their owners. Whether it is from their breeding and what they went through as kittens, their thought process or whatever... I know in my case I am very very close to all my critters and love them dearly, and they respond to that love and care. In the case of Willy and Khuay they are seldom not beside me when I am in a room. Right now Willy is snoozing on the couch beside me and Khuay is sleeping on the soft blanket that is on the back of the couch. If I manage to sneak off without their knowing it, I hear about it!!! the house rings with the sound of their blood curdling yowls of "Where are you MaMa??? You're not smart enough to be out of our sight!!!" Then when they find me they chew me out for sneaking off and not letting them know where I was going...it's like having an eight legged mother! Murphy, who is heading towards her 19th birthday, is such a sweetheart. At night she will come in the room and curl up on my pillow beside my head. She will purr me to sleep every night and has done so for the past 18+ years. She has been my nurse in residence ever since I got her. A rather large paw just reached out and patted my arm, I looked and two beautiful sky blue eyes were gazing back at me with complete trust and love in them. Willy was just making sure that I was aware that he was beside me and he was hoping for a bit of a pet before he rolled over on his back and continued his nap. He has such a happy look on his face! I hate to disrupt the routine, but I need to go up on the roof and cover the cooler before the rain storm comes in. Neither cat will be happy that I am on the roof.

Yep my cats have to be in the same room with me alot of the time, it was especially the way with my Joe (my 20+ yr old cat I used to have), we were practically joined at the hip. I swear he could sense my presence was not in the room with him at times and wake up out of a deep sleep and go follow me into the other room. He also used to "call me" to sit by him til he feel asleep in the room he was already in at times, especially in his later years. My present cat probably went through alot as a kitten/young cat as I picked her up off the street while she was looking in garbage cans skinny as a rail and pregnant for the 2nd time at a very young age. :( Yes cats do know when you're supposed to be near them in the house at all times, LOL. Murphy sounds so sweet, wow and 19 yrs old. Is she healthy or has health problems? She is a sweetheart for being your "nurse", hopefully she lives at least another two years or more. I just love hearing cat purrs, mine can purr pretty loud! Willy sounds so pretty, I have never had a cat with blue eyes but they were all so special no matter what color. Each and every one of them had their own personalities like us people do. They are probably worried about you on the roof, and their concern is showing.

Now I am wishing that I had a pet! I used to have a dog and she always seemed to be in "tune" with my emotions. And she always cuddled with me and made me feel better!

It sounds like you have had some loyal and intelligent pets. It would be nice to have one for protection, but unfortunately I am not allowed to have a pet in my apartment. When I have a house, I will definitely look into having a dog!

i also once had a cat who care about me, that's when our pets love and attention to him, he would have the same care we would even loyal with us, so just treat your pet, you do not be too rough with them, because animals also have feeling.

I'm never rough with them, they are family to me and if someone else is even the slightest bit rough I will tell them to stop. Like my cat was trying to scratch the furniture the other day which she rarely does but has just started to do in her older age, my brother threw her toy at her and i stop him to stop. I wouldn't want to throw anything at her, she is an animal and doesn't know any better. I have alot of compassion for animals, they are not our equals and they don't any better so we shouldn't be harsh with them. I would feel like a failure and a loser if I did any harm to an animal like her. She doesn't show her "caring" alot but she surprises me when she does. They will treat you the same way you treat them in their own kind of animal way.

I have been really sick the last few weeks. At my worst both indoor cats came up on my bed as if they were checking me out. I have noticed them doing this before. Some cats are just more observant than others. I think animals have a second sense about such things. They say some dogs can smell(?)cancer and diffferent thigs in people. And, I also think that cats that don't have mates are more apt to be more observant too.
