Hi there guys, lately I've been playing my guitar and watching those how to play in guitar songs. It really get my interest this week so I keep on playing different songs. However I get some difficulty when it comes to shifting to different chords and playing new chords which my finger is not familiar of. I really want to improve my guitar skill, anyone have some suggestion how? By the way, I prefer a free one. haha

Practice Practice Practice You can play a tune until you are comfortable with it...especially with the fingering of the chords and then changing from one chord to the next. After you have become familiar with the song you can move on to another song that would have a new chord in it and work on that until you are comfortable with it.

Is it okay to practice another song even if I'm not finish with the previous one?? Sometimes I even skip a song if I can't really get to play it. I'm having difficulty in tuning my guitar too. _

The most important is to practise slowly playing chords clearly, with no 'buzz' sounds. This may be frustrating, but practise makes perfect. Keep up the good work :)

Well you can go to virtually any music tab website and find different exercises on there. Basically if you go through different guitar scales and practice them as speed and dexterity exercises you will get more used to using all of your fingers and switching from different keys. The most important thing is to make sure you are making your chords right and using all of your fingers properly. Once your pinky finger gets strong enough it will become much easier to switch chords. Just continue playing songs from your favorite bands as well and you will improve with time.

Don not play the chords half-arsed. Pay attention to how you fret the chord, make sure it is clear. Do not try too hard to play at the right tempo, if you can not do it, play slowly. You can also practice, in separate, chord shifting. With guitar it is better to play accurately slow first, if done right, speed will come.
