I just started to fall in love with crafting last year, I have been using hand-sewing to do my stuffs. It's quite tiring to use hand to sew, especially just some straight lines, it'd be much easier and faster to just use a sewing machine. Finally, I just bought myself a lightweight sewing machine. I have not use a sewing machine before, I hope this lightweight sewing machine is easier to learn for a beginner like me, also I don't want to invest in a branded and powerful sewing machine before I am ready for it. I can't wait to start learning how to sew and get familiar with this sewing machine. Also, I wish to make Waldorf dolls for my two little ones, this sewing machine really comes in time.

I have never used a light weight sewing machine. I had a heavyweight one long ago but had to sell it off because of shortage of space. I too wish to have a sewing machine now but am still deciding whether to buy one or now. And how do you make the dolls. Wish I knew how to make them.

Hi.. Congratulations! I am not aware of the difference between lightweight sewing machine and the other manual/automatic sewing machines. On my wedding my best friend presented me with USHA Wonder Stitch and I love using that!! There are enormous DIY tutorials out there for you.. Try it out.

I'm happy for you. You can now explore even further to improve your crafts. I learned to use the sewing machine when I was 16. Having been mother-orphaned at an early age, I washed my own clothes and ironed my own school uniform since the age of nine.

Hi kaka! It is a very pretty machine! I have one also but it is an old one and as of now, it is not functioning well anymore. I bought my machine on a second hand shop almost 15 years ago. Maybe I have to consider looking for a new one. Sewing machine is really a great help for me because I can use it in order to repair my children's clothes and other things in the house. I'm sure you will be enjoying a lot when you use it. Don't forget to show your products here. We will wait for it. Have a nice day!

That's Indeed good! Sewing machine saves a lot of time than manual work. Im glad that you're happy with it. It also looks good! It could also serve as a great source of business, Like you could make clothes , and maybe you can market them, thru your home.. If people like your clothes, your business would definitely expand. Think about it! Just keep up the work and go on practicing till u become master! Good Luck!

Hopefully by now, you are getting better with your sewing skills, and enjoying your sewing machine you have purchased. Sewing for me was never one of my strong suits otherwise I would want to own one. It does save time when making things.

Congratulations on getting your first sewing machine. My mom bought me a portable mini sewing machine that kind of looks like the one in your picture when I was in college. I used it one or two times and broke it. hahahah. I am not an expert in operating a sewing machine, So maybe that's why it broke easily. But I enjoyed using it even for just a short while. Now I am still sewing stuff like my pajamas, apron for my little brothers school project and some other stuff, But I sew by hand. Yes, by hand, I know it takes too much time but I am pretty patient when it comes to arts and crafts because I enjoy it very much.

Constant practice and work is the trick as they say, and it seems that you're on your way there. Good luck on your endeavors!

That looks like a very nice machine. You'll be surprised how much use it will get! I have a simple sewing machine that, when my boys were growing up, I used at least once or twice a week. I hemmed pants, repaired tears, put together Halloween costumes, make toys for my boys and my dogs and even made curtains for the house. If you become good at sewing you can even make some extra money making purses, skirts or other accessories and clothing items. I hope you enjoy your new machine!

Hiya KK., Nice sewing machine and I am sure you will be able to make many many things with it. I had a Singer Machine one of the very old ones and it still sewed well for ages after the pieces started to get really hard to find. I gave it to someone who really needed one so badly to be able to work for a living making clothes. I did not use it so much then so it was very well employed be her she was delighted with it.xxx

Very glad you bought your first machine! I loved mine and used it to make doll clothes, rag dolls and quilts. I did try clothes but really enjoyed the crafts more. I hope you enjoy it and find some really nice patterns online. also remember to go to thrift stores to find some nice clothing or bedding you can use for material for your crafts.

I am so happy that you have finally bought your first sewing machine. I think it is every girl's dream of getting their own sewing machine. The modern machines can do a lot of things like sewing flowers, animals, houses, scenery , pictures and any designs you can think of. Besides, it is small compact and light. The old fashion sewing machines was big heavy and ugly looking. Have a wonderful time enjoying your sewing machine.

I have a Kenmore Sewing machine that belonged to my late mother-in-law and cannot wait until the 21st because that is when I am taking my first sewing class (I was supposed to take a class on January 6th, but I had been sick that morning and did not want to get anyone else sick). After that I will be taking a class in making purses and handbags which will be a lot of fun. I love learning new crafts and am glad that Randy does not mind me spending money on taking classes because he knows that once I learn something I can use this to make extra money.

It's nice to have a sewing machine at home. I have one then which I used in making our pillow cases and plain bed covers and thus save a lot. I gave it to my sister who is an expert sewer when her unit broke down. I plan to save and buy one again as this is really a great help at home.

Congratulation for the new sewing machine, it can help a lot to sew our project faster than hand sewing. I have old sewing machine from my sister because she doesn't use it anymore, I had a hard time to figure out how to use the machine since I never took sewing course but slowly I'm familiar with the machine. Actually I wanted that portable sewing machine like yours, because sometime I have to stay at my grandmother's house and I cannot live a day without doing my craft. There is smaller sewing tool that I also would like to buy, the tool is similar to stapler but it is used to sew.

Wow, good to know you bought a new one. I hope you will find it easy for you to do all your sewing stuff. You know that I also love sewing, as for now, one of my hobby is sewing. My husband bought me a sewing machine in October when Walmart had on sale. A Singer/Promise sewing machine. But I just used in the middle of November when my son needed his Karate uniform. Since then, I bought a material for pajamas. I stock a lot of material because it was on sale as well as satin material for dresses and a lot of pattern. Well, good luck to both us for our projects...
